For decades, China has been known as the country that produces copies and knockoffs of popular Western products. And it turns out, videogames have been no exception.

But in recent years, some knock off properties have neared the quality of the original, and in China, have actually surpassed the popularity of the original.

Even to the point that western companies, ignoring the rampant copyright infringement, have made deals to have their own franchise characters appear in the game officially.

And even more recently, an animation company in China has created an unofficial HOTS animated series, which is proving to be extremely popular.

Are there any Chinese knock off games about getting cucked by an 11 year old girl? Asking for a friend.

The Chinese were quick to make f2p knockoffs of Team Fortress 2 and Overwatch, as I recall.

I know this thread died a couple years back, but I needed to post this beautiful example of Bootleg artwork that almost looks official.

Here's one I have. Can't remember where I got it. No idea what it plays. It's the size of a PS1 but weighs about as much as my phone. Has 9-pin controller ports but I don't have cords or controllers. No info or tags on the bottom. It's simply a Prima DinoSaur, whatever that is.

Super cheaply made. Think it's held together by maybe two screws. The buttons are labeled in an odd font. The circuit board isn't buch bigger than the cartridge connector.

The logo is pretty badass though, in case anyone wants it:

I recently saw a bootleg looking Gameboy cartridge in a photo somewhere, and the game was titled bloods and crips ? It had like a little anime character on it and a Gothic style calligraphy font?
If anyone knows what I'm talking about, post it.

This game stole a bunch of assets from the cartoon styled battlefield game, which itself was a bit of a ripoff of TF2. Most of the environmental stuff, like all the crates, buildings and vegetation is from Heroes.

I played this game a bit and while it was a pretty shameless rip off it did have some original game modes. One was like a PvE against robots culminating in a giant robot boss.

Looks like the Fist Of The North Star guy's style.
That’s because Ken and Ryu are traced from Saturday Night Slam Masters. The rest of the picture however is most likely original and simply mimicking his style.
