Chris drinks because the TV tells him sophisticated adults do it...Chris then drinks liqours, and reels from the taste. Lol.
"Goes down Salty"

Which outting was it when he drank Long Island iced tea and tried to copy a Simpsons episode by singing "I love the night life"?
I can't see him having a big tolerance for alcohol. It would be funny to see him ct the way he thinks really drunk people do around women. *yawn*
Chris's Big a night Out.
Wasn't he drunk when he made that rap about raping a jungle cat?
THANK YOU!
And I think he made that rap when he was trying to out black Lars.

I think the rap came before he started talking to Jackie. Funniest explanation I've heard for it though.

Is it just me, of does Chris seem like an insane Robin Williams?

The Weston half of the family, on the other hand, is a little more closely involved with the stuff; that Harvey Powers lineage thingy pegs some of their ancestors as moonshiners and good-fer-nuthin' drunks.
Also, this.

Is it just me, or does that guy look a bit like our hero?

Yeah they both have balding hairlines.

I wonder if it's because maybe Chris discovered that when he is under the influence of "Alkyhal", it tends to let the cares of the trolls and his boring life slip away for one brief fleeting moment before he sobers up and realizes that he is still a loser?

^Well, I don't think he's ever actually been drunk. A single long island or can of budweiser won't put you under when you're 220+ lbs.

Wasn't he drunk in the Greene county conspiracy video? Or wasn't there one where he was chugging baileys or something?

He faked drinking in one video, I think Jackie asked him to get some real booze but he pussed out because he needed to save the money for more PSN shit.

As for the Greene County video, I honestly don't know if he was drinking, but I kind of doubt it. His voice definitely sounds wavering and stumbling like he might if drunk, but I think it's just because he's so filled with rage and despair at the idea that an entire school board was currently the hub of all trolling.

And Chris was doubly disadvantaged in this area, since in addition to being autistic, he grew up in the 90s and idolized characters who were marketed as cool but never actually did anything rebellious. I'm sure in his mind he thought "I don't need to do drugs or cuss to be cool, I just have to follow Sonic's safety tips!" (At least that was the mindset a lot of my autistic classmates had during the same time period.)
It especially has to do with upbringing too, I think. Parents really hammer it into their heads so they won't be so easily swayed by that sort of thing if they end up even only semi-independent. It also doesn't hurt that (in my experience) retarded kids have really religious parents.

I think the "all or nothing" part of Chris' personality comes from the same idea of his definition of hypocrite. You either don't drink beer EVER or you're a raging drunk 24/7. Moderation is something beyond his understanding.
I only drink in social situations or with meals. Guess that suddenly makes me a raging drunk in Chris's eyes.

I'd really rather be stoned than drunk. I don't drink merely to get drunk. I only drink at bars and even then have only one drink followed by water/tea.

I doubt it, it sounds like he's never been really properly drunk. I'll be honest, I'd cut a bitch to see him get really shitfaced. Maybe someone in his inner circle can take him out and throw his fat ass off the wagon? Be sure to get video.

I'm a teetotaler myself for a variety of reasons, I've only gotten buzzed once in my life and that was a few months ago because my back was hurting like a bitch (two herniated discs) and since my doctor won't give me anything decent, so I tried some Russian anaesthetic. Fortunately my anxiety meds lower alcohol tolerance, so it only took half a bottle of cheap Italian bubbly to do the job.

Heh, well, he wasn't exactly shitfaced, but there was Chris' Big Night Out. Y'know, goes down salty :tomgirl:

Barb and/or Bob seemed to drink at least socially. But Chris seemed to be capable of taking a "do as I say, not as I do" lesson from his parents. If I am not mistaken, Bob was a heavy smoker for periods in his life. He attributed some of his heart problems to that and turned Chris into an oddly militant anti-smoker. So if they told him not to drink, he would probably have absorbed and retained it more than most young people do from their parents.

Also, I can see Chris finding being around drunk people an unpleasant experience. Loudness and aggresssion are not things Chris enjoys being around. A couple experiences with drunk people, either in real life or in the media may have helped to turn him off alcohol.

He seems to have relaxed his stanse on casual drinking a little. But I still think he is uncomfortable with drunkenness.

It may be accurate that he's never been as wildly drunk as a regular partier has, but I think you may be underestimating two things:

(1) Chris has no tolerance because he's not a drinker; and
(2) alcohol has an extremely strong expectancy effect.

Given those dual factors, it's certainly possibly Chris has legitimately gotten a buzz on, even with his limited drinking.

Remember when the phrase "CatPartying a thread" meant taking a thread that asked something that's been discussed before and linking the previous thread?

Anyhooz, if what has been discussed here in the past is true, there's no way Barbs letting her little headache out drinking, and I highly doubt they drink together.
"But Pikonic, maybe he's not going to a bar, maybe he drinks at home."
Unlikely, Chris doesn't like alcohol, there's a Jackie e-mail that I might find later that said he couldn't buy a bottle of Khalua for a video. He'll run himself into crippling debt with hookers, Lego, and PSN DLC, but he won't buy some alcohol because he can't afford it. This was from when his money being heavily monitored by Bob, so it might have been that.
I might be wrong and Marvin might correct me, but I don't think there's any evidence he drinks at home, he only goes to bars.
With that, I find it unlikely he was drunk at GameStop, just an idiot.

That rap is definitely in the style of Parrapa the rapper, and I do think he may have been tipsy in that video.

But damn... Chris was so much more care free in those days. Remember when he was just a laughably-insane autist instead of a depressingly-insane autist?

I'd kind of be surprised if his tee-totaling was D.A.R.E.-influenced. He slept through most of his education; what makes D.A.R.E. any different?

More likely, it was TV that did the trick; this was the golden era of PSAs, after all. Sonic was likely his biggest influence, and hell, he may have been the only person on earth to take Tiny Toons' "One Beer" seriously.
You bring up a good point. His formative years were in the mid 80's to early 90's when the whole "Say No" campaign went in full force targeting that generation. I'm about younger than Chris, but I remember the early 90's and there were still arcades that had games with the "winners don't use drugs" slogan and some PSAs.

This is a little off-topic, but even though JonTron is more of an entertainer, his video on anti-drug video games paints a good landscape of the anti-drug rhetoric was at the time.
