I'm under the impression that Chris doesn't read anymore that he has to. But its not entirely unfeasible that he would pick up some nice, colorful , non-threatening book to thumb through out of boredom.I Don't expect he reads anything good, or interesting for that matter. But could you imagine him in a book club? "hm yeah I thi-think what sonic is tuh- what sonic is trying to portray in this panel is an- uh anger! because he didn't get a chili dog."

Maybe magazines at the doctor's office, assuming he ever goes?

Chris also seems to have read some comics. A grand number of scenes from Sonichu were traced from the Archie Comics "Sonic the Hedgehog" series, as well as official concept art.

He's also dropped a few mentions of American superhero comics, at one point mentioning Nightcrawler from the X-Men comics to Jackie. Whether or not he's read the books or simply saw X2 or a cartoon version is up to debate.

He also bought a copy of The Watchmen on Blu-Ray, but I'm certain he hasn't read the source material.

Any reference to American comics (barring Sonic) has been basic, rudimentary stuff. In the mailbag he was asked about American comics and he listed liking Batman, Spider-man and Superman. All characters who had cartoons in the early/mid 90's. Not only that but at this point these are pretty much cultural icons. Not to mention countless movies, toys, etc. As for Watchmen, he probably went in thinking it was a typical action movie and liked the hanky panky. The look at superhero mythology and nuclear hysteria, more than likely went over his head. Hell if his thoughts on Cannibal Holocaust taught us anything he probably found The Comedian and Sally Jupiter to be a cute couple.

I do find it interesting that he got into the Sonic comic but I can easily see it being accessible at super markets at the time. There always used to be comics back when the magazine section was fun. Now I miss Wizard Magazine.

I don't think Chris could honestly enjoy Watchmen because Dr. Manhattan's dong is in full display the whole time, it's the kind of thing he could never get over

When it comes to visual novels I think this is more Chris' level

That's probably what Chris would consider "educational". He needs to know what all different kinds of boob look like so he is prepared for the hanky-panky with his sweetheart.

I had an idea, does Chris bother rereading his own comics? The walls of text are almost too much for me to bear, I can't really see Chris having the patience to go through all that without some pictures to break it up. Also, I'm sure he skipped some of it when he did his videobooks.

Chris would probably accuse the Watchmen of trying to turn him into one of DA HOMOS.

Reading is an implicit contract; the words will only take you halfway, and you'll agree to fill in the rest, be it imagining what everything really looks like to making your own interpretations. However, Chris was not raised in an environment conducive to stretching his imagination

Alpha) You need an imagination to flesh out the words. The words will guide you but you have to fill in the details with your own imagination and experiences. Chris has no imagination or experiences from outside his bedroom and the false reality of television.

According to the Sonichu comics, when reading goosebumps, he mentally replaced the characters with Sonic characters....

Chris can't read the writing on the wall so how can he be expected to read a book? :pickle: :pickle: :pickle:
