I never understood this. Alcohol does not 'go down salty', at least from my experience.

Stuff like unmixed rum has a dry burning sensation as it goes down your throat, but that's part of the fun. Long Island Iced Tea is usually made of rum, gin and orange liquor, right? So I think it'd be similar

You rim some drinks, like a margarita, with salt. As have been previously established, though, Long Island Ice Tea is not one of those drinks.

It's possible he just have trouble identifying flavors I guess.
 
He mustn't mean it literally, because he said the same thing about his semen and Fanta when he drank that on video, unless semen has a high salt taste? I wouldn't know, honest!

The one thing he heard and retained that he isn't completely insane about, as far as semen, is that what a person eats out of habit hugely influences the taste of their output. However, it's not like a vending machine, as he thinks: if you drank a pint of Guinness today, you would not be magically dispensing frothy loads of stout this evening. It's dietary trends over time. I've always been much happier to perform the otherwise identical favor for vegetarian boyfriends than omnivores, because for SCIENCE REASONS, the result doesn't require me to keep a drink by the bedside to kill the flavor afterward. /TMI

I agree -- if it's not a Simpsons thing (which is what I thought of because it's where he learned about the Long Island Iced Tea in the first place), it's some random phrase someone said on a show, which he thinks is funny, clever, or risque for some reason.

The worst offenders are actually (for most people, it depends on taste I guess) chocolate, nuts and sweets in most cases. It makes it taste bitter and weird (not that it's a taste I'd ever really find normal to my own palette at least).

Taste is generally effected by non-processed sugar intake (fruit), meat, and water. Since Chris drinking nothing but soda and chows down on burgers I would guess that Chris' navy is borderline caustic.

Oh yes, those as well! Yes, the same vegetarian after one sufficiently long camping trip with nut-laden granola... there's a dip in quality.
