One of the best things anyone could have done for Chris would have been to permanently and definitively cut down his internet, Facebook inclusive.
Seeing as how it's his last real link to the outside world, I don't see this happening. I don't know if Chris has any people IRL he hasn't completely alienated yet; facebook seems like his only means of talking to anyone beside Barb.

What I find interesting is how many facebook friends Chris has now. I may have misread the number, but I'm pretty sure the last time I checked he had over 1000, and some of them male at that. I read a post somewhere on here that he was trying to reach out to former high school classmates but that number seems a bit too high. On top of that, I understand his criteria of adding someone is pretty strict.

PS. I read your book "The Disaster Artist"; loved it :tomgirl:

PSS. First post after long time creeping, woo hoo!

I'd contend that it's already changed Chris. In particular how it led him to find out all his High-school gal-pals just looked on him in pity and a 'tard to protect. He'd developed his internal narrative so far along the 'everything got ruined when I moved away' scenario that now the truth is revealed he seems far more morose.

He's still be going downhill no matter what at this point, but Facebook is like a lubricant of sorts, speeding up the process.

Agreed. Take his latest post about his galpals. Blathering his indignance about how they're not waiting on him hand and foot is nothing new, and is relatively innocuous, but it does represent a problem that Chris has been suffering from for over a decade now.

The post in question:

Chris was long bemoaning the state of his life, and then his house caught fire. In that time, he could have focused exclusively on the goodwill that others were showing him in a time of need, and not said anything about his pity pals at all. But, here we are, with Chris once again calling out people who have very little to do with him. This is due to Chris's absurd fantasy that the world owes him both a comfortable living and emotional satisfaction. The world isn't giving over, however, and this upsets Chris. These days, when Chris gets upset, he lashes out.

Again, this particular post may not necessarily cause any problems; the women in question may not even know he put this message up. The real issue is that Chris, even in this pathetic, T-rex armed way, is stirring up trouble where none need be. Bringing an attraction sign to the PVCC campus was a bad idea. Okay, fine, lesson learned, leave it alone, right? Oh, no. Chris insisted on bringing the sign back. When he was banned from the Game Place the second time, that should have been a clear enough message that he wasn't to come back, but indeed, Fat Dummy tried to casually stroll in shortly after the ban, as if no one would notice him. Then we have the Fashion Square Mall trolling of 2012, followed by the stupid Pittsburgh Pirates riddle, and his insistence that we try to figure it out. Not only did no one fall for these tricks, but both of them ended with Chris crapping a continent of conniption fits when we turned the tables on him. Then there was the Walmart incident of 2013. It all ends up blowing up in Chris's face, because he never counts on failure or consequence.

In a way, we are very much like Sarah, Tiffany, and Kellie, in that Chris doesn't know anything about us. When he tries to provoke us, he gets more than he bargained for, because he doesn't know what the bargain entails. It could be that somehow, remote as the chance may seem, Chris could end up ranting at one of the wrong ex-gal pals one day.

There's no way it's anywhere near 1000. It's more like 70, the majority of which are trolls.
You're right; I just looked again and I confused followers for friends, which is well over the 1500's.

This. Chris's only saving grace at this point is the age of the GalPals he is railing at. If he had done this when they were all in their early 20's, it's more likely that one of them would have levelled a public smackdown. But a lot of them are moms now, and therefore veterans at dealing with tantrums. But as we all know, even moms have their limit, and when you finally manage to exceed it... watch your ass.

I agree, with the addition that what Chris has been saying so far has been pretty minor, hence the Gal-Pals total willingness to ignore him. The worst thing that Chris did was call one of them a bitch. However, if Chris ever threatened to kill one of them like he did with Mimms, Snyder, Megan and whoever else then I guarantee you they will go ape-shit. They have children, if they don't take such a threat seriously, I'm willing to bet their husbands will.
Yeah that'd do it alright. Or if he says something weird or shitty about one of their kids, i actually see that as more likely than any death-threats.

That's my opinion as well. I'd say that nothing much would change, except that this was the avenue through which he had his idyllic memories shattered. He honestly thought that his high school life was perfect for the most part and that he had a genuine chance with a pretty girl that was both real and had nothing wrong with her. Despite the one post on the CWCki about Kellie, Chris really thought the only reason he didn't get him a slice of Kellie pie is because he didn't make a move back then.

Chris then ends up going onto facebook with dreams of making a reunion and re-connecting with all of his high school galpals, only to eventually discover that they were only friends with him out of pity and that they can't stand him now. What's even worse is that some of them posted videos/pictures/etc of him and make fun of him, knowing that it's likely that he'd hear about it one way or another. This probably would have never happened if he hadn't been on facebook, so I'd argue that this changed Chris for the worse rather than being neutral.

You're right that it's a lot closer to 70, but I don't think a majority of them are trolls. Just people from Chris' high school.

Yeah, it's mostly people who friended him once and didn't give a shit after that. Think about it - how many people are you friends with on facebook that you don't even pay attention to? That you've forgotten are even on your list?

For a lot of them, the 2nd time they paid attention to him was probably to change their wall settings so his updates don't appear to them anymore.

I always pictured the average Facebook friend of Chris being a retirement-age woman who goes to the church Chris was banned from, who does nothing but post grandchild photos, and whose Facebook friends consist entirely of other retired women, family, and one mentally deranged asshole.
