If you think of the saying "If you judge a fish's intelligence on how well it can climb a tree it will spend it's whole life thinking it's stupid."
Sure, he's bad at most things and doesn't excel (and instead fails miserably at) academics, but there has to be something he's good at. He says he can put together a computer (even though pretty much anyone can do that) maybe his hidden talent is that he specializes in hardware?

I don't know if he can. At least nowadays. He hasn't kept up with modern hardware.

I just added a blu ray writer to my pc, but I'm not going to put that on my resume. Really, a computer is just a small collection of parts. If someone builds a circuit board, I'll be impressed. Building a computer is the same as painting by numbers.

This. Having built and overclocked my own rig, and can say without a doubt it's so easy an adult autistic child can do it.

I think he replaced a part in that laptop someone sent him.

I could see Chris putting together a PC in a class setting where all the parts are provided.
 
He knows how to swap out hard drives for his Triple when the one he's currently using gets full of too many Sex and the City episodes.

Yeah, but a hard drive swap is one of the easiest things to do to just about any computer, be it desktop, laptop, or game console (provided the HDD is user-serviceable). The fact that he can swap a hard drive isn't saying much.

If I didn't know that was Sonic I would think that was some kind of strange tribal idol or fetish.

I mean imagine...you walk into a museum and you see that thing. Next to it is a card that reads about how it was the god of such and such tribe and was found and restored by a one hit archeologist. Either that or it would be identified as the Templar's God, hundreds of years too late for the Inquisition's councils and the Vatican to discover.

IQ is such a problematic measure. I would put him within a standard deviation and a half below average, but that mainly means he has the ability to recognize patterns. He has very little knowledge due to his failure to apply himself going back many years. I'd suggest he could be a capable draftsman under a good engineer or architect, for example, IF he had been willing to accept instruction, but his complete unwillingness to do anything but fuck around with vidya and pine after women so far out of his league they're the MLB to his backyard stickball means he won't be anything but a drain.

To put it into psychological terms, his fluid intelligence is probably not too far below average, while his crystalline intelligence is near zilch.
 
Hes not retarded nor slow. He completed 4 years of college and highschool. If anything he is socially retarded and lazy.

He still did it though and was banned for a year. The guy isn't the smartest, but he isn't the lumbering mongoloid everyone is saying he is.
