Chris loves the internet but his hands are tied by his paranoia and the fact that he is consistently burned by it. Ideally, for him, socialization IRL would work the same exact way as it does on the internet, as in people just come up to him and find merit in his existence.

I think he probably still holds out that legitimate e-girl will start talking to him on FB or something.

I don't think it's so much he's a coward(although that is a big part of it) but really the internet is his only world. Being autistic, a shut-in and all of the other antisocial things that he is, Chris probably lives through the internet, where he can spout opinions without interaction.

He's not a shut-in. His opportunities to socialize are limited, contrary to what he would want.

Why doesn't he join the social group thing again (you know where he met the Wallflower)
Or why doesn't he take a class on something so he can at least meet some people there with similar interests. Spanish classes for example, he could use some of those.
Or a reading club?
I'm sure there are activities he can make around Charlottesville that will lead him to meet some people, or is it an extremely small town?
Or is he too paranoid to socialize outside as well?

Yeah, plus, I don't know many reading clubs that read Goosebumps and Fear Street.


Honestly, the type of thing he'd want to go to are things related to his current interests. So places like the game place. He's also got video games and legos and other things too. But yeah, Barb is too worried about her little boy leaving her.

He's still kind of sore on the social group thing, since he still hasn't received an apology from the Wallflower for not letting him inside her vagina, and for not being understanding when he got her swarmed by trolls.

C-Ville is a medium-sized college town, it's not Vegas but there's still plenty of stuff he could do. It's not so much that he's paranoid about RL people as that he's a pussy. He "freezes up" any time he sees a pretty girl, and he never tries to work past that like the rest of the male population had to.

It would be interesting to see how the Barb/Chris relationship ends up like, and if he ever decides to rebel (or stop hiding behing mommy's skirt)
