I’ve only learned about this kind of stuff recently, and it’s made me reevaluate my view of Chris and his situation quite a bit. It’s one thing if the idiot does stupid things because he’s stupid. It’s another if the idiot is told to do stupid stuff by people who know better.
Most of Chris-chan's history (post-internet fame) can be explained by him being gullible enough to do stupid stuff told to him by people who know better.
I wasn't surprised. He tried exactly that with Megan. She told him multiple times, that she wasn't interested in him, but he still tried to win that contest "to stay in a hotel with my sweet Megan and have our first time". Creepy. And still I see some people saying, that "Chris only wanted love, but the trolls used him".
I think it's because they tend to overlook the legitimately awful things he's done or try to pin those aspects of his life onto the trolls. Sure they took a toll on Chris and some of them, mostly BlueSpike and the idea guys, took it too far for sure. But Chris was always a socially awkward fool who wanted to reproduce and acted creepy to literally every woman he's been around, be it Kacey or even Barb.
You know, Chris may be the protoincel, 'cause he openly used their rhetoric even before they existed. Like "all the good girls are taken by some jerks" or like when he wanted 10 out of 10 virgin, who would do anything for him. He also trooned out like many of them do. Just proves how self-destructive this entitled worldview is.
During Liquid Chris saga he actively tried to get her into his home, while pretending to be Liquid Chris. I also remember how his excuse for SheCameForCWC.jpg in his mail with Megan was "it is good that I made it, because I could do something bad, while acting on my hormones". I doubt he would do something though, he is coward IRL.
Kacey never intended to “help” Chris, they knew he would half-ass it and have a reason to go full troll mode. Helping Chris improve his life doesn’t yield interesting content, with the exception of Kim taking him out to karaoke and the Rollin’ and Trollin’ vid where we actually see him attempt to be social.
That's part of the troll persona. Pretend to be helpful to bait Chris into making a fool of himself with his excuses. Plus framing the conversation that way is more compelling than letting Chris have control of it - he'd just ramble about toys the whole call instead.
Maybe, but look at it this way - Kacey didn't ask him to meet Iwata or drive to another state, just don't eat shit and move more. If he managed to do this, call me optimistic, but I think his hatedom would've fractured. Same with their calls concerning hoarding. Did they mean well? Of course, not. But if Chandlers cleaned up their house, Bob would die, yes, but at least he wouldn't be eaten alive by bed bugs. And the great Keurig fire probably wouldn't have happened at all.
I would imagine they would do that to laugh at his half-assed attempt of "cleaning", provoke Barb into attempting suicide for cleaning the horde, or both.
