Bob probably had the highest hope for Chris out of anyone. The dreaming studio, his letters to Chris, helping him out of debt, making him take CADD in PVCC. He tried his damnedest to make Chris not only into a functional member of society, but maybe even something greater. It really sucks that all that effort went to waste on someone like Chris

Since Bob came from the military, after the failure that was CADD, I was surprised he didn't ship Chris to the military at the time Chris made his Future Message video or even later in Chris' life (I think Bob couldn't trust the military with Chris, as they would have deemed him insane and shipped to a mental institution, something that Bob at the time still feared).

Given their relationship, Chris seemed like an ungrateful, egotistical prick towards Bob, if the date with Emily was anything to go on.

Yes, since at least middle school, Bob paid girls to be friends or look out for Chris. The HS gal-pals were paid with good marks via the principal, or they legit pitied him.

Chris got confirmation from Barb, and Chris contacted the actual gal-pals, which shattered Chris' world (and may have contributed to his current world view).

Bob arranged for the lunchtime galpals (the ones who went to this birthday party) to hang out with Chris. The actual letter revealing it to Chris was indeed a troll fabrication, but Barb confirmed it to Chris anyway.

I don't think we have reason to believe that any actual money changed hands. It might've just been a favor requested by the principal and the girls were just doing a good deed. It's possible they got service learning hours.

Sometimes I think that "mainstreaming" high functioning autistics is the right thing to do, since that way they can see how average people interact and learn from it. If they're warehoused with other speds they'll all just pick up each other's bad behaviors.

I can absolutely see school officials asking the "gal pals" to hang out with Chris. Schools do that all the time when there's a weird kid. Sometimes it works out well and the oddball assimilates, sometimes it doesn't. Principals are just trying to get through the years that kid will be there without legal incident.

This is pretty much true, but he would've needed a handler. In my school years, I knew a person pretty similar to Chris in a good few ways (random outbursts, childish interests, not paying attention). He was mainstreamed and moved through the classes, but was accompanied by a handler that made sure he didn't say the n-word and at least attempted the work. If Chris had a handler making sure he stayed awake in class and didn't half-ass his assignments, he could've turned out much better.

It was a bit of both. If the weens weren't calling, be best assured that the staff would've received complaints and told Chris to knock it off. This is Chris, so he wouldn't get the memo because he's not a fan of authority.

I agree that it was a mix of both. Weens definitely played a part, but as we've seen with The End Games, Chris also gets banned from places even when the establishment tell the weens to fuck off. Chris probably would have gotten himself banned from the gym eventually, but the weens harassing the business definitely did not help.

I just finished watching this and I got very creeped out by Sockass's messages to to Megan.

While I knew Chris tried to reach out to her relatively recently, I'd never seen his video telling Megan she's a ""goddess"" before. Between that and Sockneseess weird messages, this whole episode was very off-putting to me. It's one thing when Chris is delusional on his own or with people actively trying to be part of his life, it's another when people trying to live their own lives are attempted to be pulled back into contact with him. Megan probably rues the day she decided to be nice to an autistic loner - no good deed goes unpunished.

Let's not forget the last we've seen of Megan was her cameo in Joe Draft documentary on OPL and some other sperg interviewing her via FB. She's still in demand for anything related to Chris.

Really the only bad part of Bob is denying Chris the special assistance he needed, but let me ask you. If you grew up and you saw people be dragged away in straight jackets, strapped and tied to a post like a dog, sedated like a vegetable, and experimented without care. Theres no way Id let them take my son who can function somewhat in society. It would have to be an extensive breakdown equal to those nazi and communist deconversions they had to do post WW2 to teach Bob that mental health assistance isn't the same it was 20 years ago.

I think there's a simpler explanation that fits into the Chandler's mindsets a lot better:. Chris in "special schools" means that his parents would have to get more involved, plus there probably wouldn't have been any bus service to whatever school so that means one of Chris's parents would be on the hook, every day.

I'm addition to potential costs. The Chandler's paying one red cent for Chris would be completely out of the question. Ideas of special would come with special price tags.

People talk about, well Chris in a special school means embarrassment for the Chandler's, by then the town already hated the Chandler's. I don't think Borb cared about the evil mental hospitals.

It would make sense about the over the top fear imparted into Chris about that. They're just shitty parents but no, it's because it would be so horrible to Chris.

It's interesting that Chris held this in high regard of his memories in high school even though his gal pals only hung out with him at that time and in his birthday party, while even looking at the photos, they weren't close as Chris claims. It was when the truth was revealed, that Chris held on to other delusions because he didn't want to accept the reality of his fantasy high school years were fraudulent. Keep in mind, at graduation, Chris was more concerned for his art not winning as opposed to thinking of what to do next after HS.

That was a big mistake on Bob's part. Sure, he didn't know that much on autism, but when he sees his 25 year old son playing with MLP, 'growing out' would not be part of the equation. Too bad Bob was too old to keep up with Chris and his antics with the trolls. What's worse is that Bob actively took part in trying to combat the trolls, and fueled his paranoia that Chris, and the family kept on being persecuted. He just couldn't realize what an obnoxious asshole his son really was.
