Chris-Chan: A Comprehensive History

Bob's 2008 letter to Chris leaves me feeling like he didn't give up soon enough. Even with Chris having... not turned out as expected, he's still trying to guide him into doing something constructive and meaningful with Chris' interests, to channel his retarded fanfic-diarrhea into an inspirational message on overcoming autism.
Chris graduated from PVCC in 2006. So within 2 years with his and Barb's mainstreaming, he knew Chris wasn't going to amount to anything, so I'm guessing that's why he wrote that letter. Since Bob came from electrical engineering, I was thinking since he did homeschool Chris, he couldn't teach Chris some basic engineering projects in the Dream Studio, since Chris was fixated on Pokemon. While noble/wishful thinking on Bob's part, Chris obviously didn't mean for sonichu to be a mascot for autism, since he didn't care about other slow in the minds other than himself. The whole 'overcoming autism' thing was another cope that Bob had that ended up backfiring.

Chris talked about "mainlining" and how his parents thought by treating him like a normal person he would magically become successful without special education, and Bob even paid the galpals to hang out with Chris to boost his confidence and get him socializing with girls.

I just realized the cognitive dissonance of insisting on keeping your autistic son in normal education, but at the same time paying people to hang out with him. Do you want him treated like a normal person or does he need special attention?
I have to wonder if Borb thought autism was a behavioral issue and or Bob really believed that people were frightened of Chris because he had autism, and thus, couldn't make friends. Paying people to hang out with him, especially girls, may have been some round about way of "treating" Chris.

I still have to wonder if they did all that, fully knowing that Chris is screwed up, simply because they didn't want the added hassle and potential cost of treating Chris in a special facility, or special classes. The family was split for years, and both worked in the early formative years, and probably wouldn't have any time to cart Chris to a shrink, nor would want to pay for that anyway. Things like getting Chris into the cub scouts or even into college may seem like a buffoonish but somewhat quaint thing until you look at it more in the realm of Borb just trying to find places that would both get Chris to act better and maybe better himself, but also because they were just babysitters, able to give his parents some peace from hanging around the house all the time. Even by college, they both must have known Chris was "special" and not all there, even the point where Bob was doing Chris's homework in college.

Realistically, even Chris in high school wouldn't have shown cracks, and it wasn't until college that Bob most likely realized Chris was fucked. The Wendys job was just the straw that broke the camel's back that cemented into their minds Chris really was a lost cause. I'm sure Chris waddled home after that incident where he dumped a load of trash on himself and tried to wash it off in the bathroom. "College" degree or none, Chris wasn't going to ever work a straight job. Thus, the Borb unit had to make a decision about getting Chris on SSDI in order for him to have money to take care of them later in life, verses trying to get Chris to even hold down a menial fast food job.

Parents of special needs kids do absolutely wild things.

I have a family member on the autistic spectrum. We have known since he was 3 or 4 that he'd be special needs. He is significantly lower functioning than Chris. Chris can be funny, talkative, has a tangible personality even if it's juvenile and weird. We know who this guy is. I don't know anything about my cousin at all.

They refused to get him diagnosed in fear of him being labelled and kept him in normal education, but did his homework for him all throughout school - into high school. A driving instructor told them he shouldn't be driving - they simply went to a different driving instructor and grinded out the test until he passed.

Wild and sad to see it in person and be a talking point at the family dinner table.

What the hell do they think will happen after highschool? I severely doubt he could cut it in post secondary and without some sort of special education I doubt he could even cut it in the shittiest minimum wage jobs if he's worse than chris.

It was exceptional how that ended working out with Chris spending more than he should on toys, vidya and porn/sex toys. Even with Borb teaching Chris on money management fell off.

Part 68 is coming soon, according to Geno.

I wouldn't even want him to bag my groceries, ffs. Used to have a retard at the grocery store I went to growing up. Would put the eggs on the bottom of the bag and follow us out sometimes, terrifying. Still probably was more competent than Chris would be, though.
even if only he would have lasted 3 months there would make him more competent then chris.

I've always felt it was incredibly self indulgent of Geno to insert talk about himself and his documentary in his videos.
Geno doesn't have a choice. Chris heavily interacted with, and regularly responded to both Geno and his documentary to the extent that those interactions now have to be covered. Geno himself could easily be considered a semi-important figure in Christory 2019-2021 just from all the Chris interactions alone.

I been rewatching the documentary again
and in Part 28
Chris-chan when talking about Seinfeld tried to make a Seinfeld joke to introduce Chris-chan
as a "fine young autistic boy-- i mean young autistic teenager".
Chris was 28 or 29 at that time and viewed himself as a teenager.

let that sink in.

No wonder Chris likes to delude himself as younger than he is. Doesn't surprise me that he still views himself as a 21 year old while just turning 40. Now that you mention it, Chris was one year away into going into his 'tomgirl phase'

Also, among his many delusions, it's particularly startling that he continues to believe Ted Bundy is innocent. Imagine if the idea guys tried to make Chris believe Hitler was innocent? With this, it's prevalent that Chris and the internet is like oil and water. Regardless of the content output, Chris shouldn't use it.
