Even in the public system, you have to pay a sort of penalty/deductible/excess for seeing a doctor in China, i.e. they charge you small fees, not at all covering the actual price of treatment, to discourage frivolous use of doctors and hospitals. Also, most round-eyes in China pay for private health insurance because the public one is not good enough. I found out about this from Winston Sterzel (serpentza on YouTube), and here is an article summarising how these fees work, along with various ways the Chink doctors try to pull a fast one.He doesn't pay rent and China has socialized medicare.
So Bongland and several other European countries' health services are more "socialized" than a country that calls itself Communist, because you only pay for them when you pay taxes. Not really that surprising in retrospect, of course.
