Chris-Chan: A Comprehensive History

I hope Geno eventually catches up to now and he starts to update in real time. I think the guy just needed a break, because those vids look really professionally done.

Well that, and having to produce a professionally made docx on Chris is probably tiring. No doubt that Geno also has to deal with Chris white knights as well.

That sad music and constantly trying to make Chris come across as a harmless tard beaten down by the world is pretty bias in nature.
I wouldn't necessarily say he tries to make Chris come across as harmless; he just presents everything dispassionately rather than being like "lol look at this" - even when narrating that Chris said anal isn't gay if your testicles don't touch.

And I mean objectively he is a fucking tragedy so sad music seems apt.

I just don't see that.

It's detached and the music only helps to do that. The series seeks to show people chris chan as he is and for people to make the judgement. If there's any objectivity it's what you bring to it.

REPORT: 'Chris Chan: A Comprehensive History' Revived by ABC

A second season of the hit fran-chise comes on the heels of record-breaking ratings and a warm reception from critics, CNN is reporting. Executive producer, GenoSamuel, abruptly shelved the series after negotiations stalled in 2018. Samuel hinted shortly before the then series finale that he "would be open to coming back when the timing was right."

ABC will be wringing more nostalgia from the surprisingly fruitful Chris Chan: A Comprehensive History reboot, giving a not-at-all-surprising renewal to the revived sitcom.

The next batch of episodes will again reunite original castmembers Chris Chan, Ian Brandon Anderson, Kasey, Barbara Anne Weston Chandler, Sorbet, and Alec Benson Leary. Other past cast members are expected to make infrequent visits, as they did during Season 1. There was no immediate word whether the network plans to have it ready for spring, but sources say a February premiere is likely.

The wild success of Chris Chan: A Comprehensive History cannot be stressed enough. In a climate where TV reunions, particularly on the sitcom front, are a popular way to cut through the clutter, GenoSamuel's show did one better. Its 2018 premiere was the highest-rated scripted broadcast of the season and the highest-rated sitcom in more than thirty years. The hourlong juggernaut opener took a 5.1 rating among adults 18-49 and 28.1 million viewers in one night alone. Time-shifting has already driven the episode to 31.9 million viewers and a 16.1 rating after only three days of additional viewing.

It's a huge and much needed win for ABC. The No. 4 network, which trails the rest of the broadcasters in large part due to its lack of autism, did not start its midseason on the most auspicious of notes. The annual Academy Awards telecast, the marquee night of ABC's calendar, hit a record low. And even though the revived Parappa The Rapper has been a consistent performer, it's not lighting ratings on fire. But now the network will finish the broadcast season with TV's No. 1 new drama, previously renewed Bronycon, and the season's No. 1 series overall in Chris Chan: A Comprehensive History.

“We’re thrilled that America has welcomed the Chandler family back into their homes," said ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey. "The show is as fresh and relevant today as it was when it left the air last year and when it started in the walls of Manchester High in March 2000. We can’t wait to see what the GenoSamuel team has in store for 2019."

Did Chris get written out for making merge related tweets?

They were influenced by weed. The teen trooon glitter squad will be the new focus of the show. Like before, only autistic numbskulls will watch.

Chris' response "I thought the fucking bitch's arms were BLUE. I'm not a GODDAMN Speciest! My Husband's dick has SPINES"

I watched all 13 parts of this despite knowing how all of this stuff went down. Some minor production/sound issues aside, I found the narrator to be well-spoken, articulate, and interesting. In my opinion, this is easily the best series of videos on our pet lolcow. Glad to see that we’ll be diving into the Liquid Chris saga soon.

In watching this series, I’m now recommended to watch tons of other people basically just reading the CWCki. This ‘BasedShaman’ (?) is the worst of them all.

I've heard the rumor about this being a "reboot". Is he actually starting over or is it a continuation of the original. Actually rebooting it seems counter productive at this point.

I'd be surprised if he wanted to 'reboot' it. When he took that break, he said part of the reason was he just isn't that interested in Chris, or in making docos- he's always been mostly into music. He also talked about how daunting it was, realizing how long the series would have to be to cover all Chris's autistic bullshit- IIRC he started aiming for a 12 part series, but soon realized it'd take much more than that, which he found pretty overwhelming (understandably imo). He also said part of why he was paused the series was that he finds it depressing (i think he said "mentally draining" or something) focussing on Chris so much (again, understandable).

So re-treading ground he's already covered, needlessly doubling up on work seems unlikely to me. I was surprised to see him going back to it at all, really. I think it'd more likely he wants to get it out of the way.

They make great watches in your bedroom after a hard days of pouring cocktails.

Agreed. Last year I was in a very deep depression and was spending a day by myself when I discovered his Chris videos and I started watching them, and it literally made me feel so much better that it was remarkable. His voice was soothing, and just the way he explained things and poured so much care into presenting the details is so great. I'm not trying to be dramatic but it helped me more than I can describe. So the fact that you watched the videos after a hard day is pretty relatable, and it makes me wonder how many other people his videos have helped.
