I just barely finished watching this and debated on if I should post a thread about it. Looks like I was beaten to the punch. It's always weird to see other people talk about Chris.

The long pause after Nash told her Chris's back alley rapist comparison was pretty funny. But most of the video I was just like "This lady has no idea how deep the rabbit hole goes". It reminds me of any time I try to tell anyone about Chris who's never heard of him. Lots of awkward pausing.

It seemed okay to me, but to be honest they didn't say anything that's not already been said here 500 times. The difficulty with explaining Chris to people unfamiliar with him is, there's so much. We got more out of the arrest story because we've been following Chris getting steadily angrier and angrier for months, not to mention all the other crazy shit in his life leading up to this. For us, it wasn't "Heh, look at that, some weirdo decided to commit assault and get arrested because of a cartoon hedgehog from the 90s," it was "Holy shit the mad bastard finally snapped!"

This show does a reasonable job of summing up the strange world of Chris, but unless you're going to dedicate an entire multi-part series to him, you're inevitably only going to scratch the surface.

The thing about trying to explain Chris to other people is just all the detail and back story and nuances. It's like trying to explain some epic multi-book saga to someone, like the Dark Tower and all the tie-in books, but on a much more massive scale.

You've got video, phone calls, chat logs, Sonichu, all the people, all the trolls, all the relics...and it just goes on like that. How can anyone properly explain that to another person? You just can't. You basically have to figure if that person would actually be interested in learning about Chris, give them a couple highlights, and then send them to the CWCki and let them figure the rest out on their own.

It's impossible to describe Chris to a newbie in so many words. At best, all you can say is "ICK!" and if anything more needs to be provided, refer them to sonichu.com. There's more than enough ample reading for a winters night there. Years from now if that site is still up on the Internet, people of the 2040's will be going "NO WAY!" when reading about the exploits of CWC in the early 21st Century. That's Chris' legacy to the ages; a proverbial "Mister Bungle"* on what not to be in life.

Amazing, isn't it? There's more information on a weirdo from Nowheresville, Virginia than your typical movie/TV celebrity, singer, historical figure, etc.

Chris's life is like the Dragon Ball Z of autism

They really know SO little about him though.

Or maybe WE just know way too much.

The thing that I noticed is, the more you know about Chris Chan, the harder it is to describe him, because you know so much that it's really difficult to describe just what a massive human trainwreck the guy is. In fact, if I do describe him to others, I just refer to him as a human trainwreck that you can't stop watching.
