It's not Mace, Sprays like Mace an CsGas are directional sprays not misting ones, they are supposed to be a targetable self defence weapon, if they where atomiser sprays like most spray cans it would defeat the porous. I am guessing this was either perfume from the lengh of the spray OR some deodorant he had in his hands.

That's actually a pretty good theory. He has made a comic of himself painting over a Sonic Boom display's arms at the mall, after all.
