Collected the rest of the anon claims from the thread. Chris was to play a Misery parody named Mrs. Applebottom. Unsure if this is real or not. A lot of the cancellation reason sounds made up but the episode plots could be real.

What if they leak the episode with Chris to Chris and Chris is the source of the episode's spread THEN (follow me on this one) what are they going to do? Sue a retard? That would look bad. PLUS, it could be like the Deadpool test footage leak and it takes off and Adult Swim uncancels Smiling Friends!?? Please, please let this happen.

As much as a “Chris has destroyed something beautiful once again” scenario this could be, it’s more likely the coof killed this project. Something without an established property is always seen as risky, not to mention animation is stupidly expensive. They’ll just keep tugging around the Newgrounds crew forever without committing to a series most likely, regardless of quality *sigh*

I believe it, those pics have a lot of details right, like the file extension being .mov since all animation studios are run by Macfags.
 
Is there actually proof smiling friends is dead besides this 4chan leak that looks like a stereotype of fake leaks and no one thinking the ng boys could work with the mainstream.
Not sure what more sad, a potential cwc role torpedoing my most anticipated show or it just dying from share holder beruacracy

Secondly, the leaker claimed that John Madden is also guest starring in the same episode, who is in his 80's and has mostly retired from public life. I really doubt they would have been able to secure a guest spot appearance from him for an Adult Swim cartoon.

Zach is on Chris' official list of enemies. That alone makes this highly implausible. Sure, every now and then there's something credible like the 2016 Ghostbusters leak on 4chan. But 90% of shit like this is "my uncle works at Nintendo" -tier stuff.

I think it's funny how the culture has done a complete 180 over the past 2 decades. Adult swim used to be popular and well respected for airing shit that other networks wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole. More specifically stuff that would piss off the boomer right-wingers that held political power at the time. Other networks were terrified of getting in trouble with the moral busybodies that ran the major networks by airing anything too risque or Avantgarde.

Nowadays it's the complete opposite. Boomer execs are terrified of posting anything that could possibly be considered "problematic" or have any off-color humor. Adult Swim lets Justin Roiland write jokes about anything ranging from 9/11 to fucking children and killing babies but heaven forbid they allow a single joke about trans people. We have literally reached the point where it is more acceptable on a major TV network to joke about 9/11 than it is to say the word faggot.

we could've gotten a show with zach at the helm with someone as infamous as chris chan as one of the voice actors. but no, instead we get endless reruns of family guy, older original shows that were infinitely better than the new original shows, rick and morty, and whatever the fuck "mostly 4 millenials" and "hot package" is.
