LOL at the part where Chris says he would “be willing to proceed if…..” As if the court cares if he’s willing?

The court cares about his willingness about as much as he cared about Barb’s.

ETA: I don’t think we’ll get many updates on Barb. As a victim of sexual assault, I think they are legally obligated to protect her privacy as much as possible.

Judge Barredo was a gang prosecutor for 7 years before being appointed a judge. He’s a badass and won’t be sympathetic to Chris and his outbursts.

oh hes already started acting like a child, interrupting the judge repeatedly, and saying he needs to go home and get some things, stomping his feet, talking loudly in court, etc.

true. it's more about how many hours, etc. also if the work contradicts what one is on SSDI or SSI for. Like, if you have a major back injury but you're doing some highly physical job that's going to raise a few eyebrows.

you can also go to school or volunteer. there are groups, both government linked and private that work with individuals and linking them to these sorts of things as well as ensuring recipients don't bite off too much and lose said benefits, promoting some agency so they're not just literal... well, chris chan's.

He's a state court judge in the juvenile and domestic division.

He's definitely seen worse. He's probably seen every form of mental illness on display in front of him. He's likely seen legions of skitzos ranting about god residing in the ceiling waiting to strike him down. Chris is just a petulant child compared to some of the nutjobs who are arrested for domestic crimes.

I think his anxiety right now mostly revolves around getting his stuff -- possibly new stuff he bought with that $750 -- out of the hotel room before they throw it out. He wants to "get everything back home" and doesn't feel safe knowing that he belongings are in jeopardy.

He may or may not also want to bring stuff to jail with him. He's probably under he impression that he can do that, though he's definitely under the much stronger impression that he'll be going home any minute now so it's likely not quite as stress-inducing. But my read is that the biggest thing is just to get stuff out of the motel and home safely before he's no longer paid up there.

(Of course, I might just be trying to impose order on chaos/rationality on the completely irrational here. Cows in general but CWC in particular have this ability to blow my mind with their limitless buffoonery.)
