I’m sick of people saying that this is because of his ASD. No, he’s just a selfish, spoilt, sociopathic piece of shit. I work with autistic people, and they have the same amount of empathy as anyone else. What they have trouble with is reading social cues, and understanding that other people might feel/react differently to a situation than they do. This becomes a problem with nuanced situations where right or wrong is dependent on how the subject feels about it, but hitting someone with a car or raping an elderly woman are not nuanced situations. Anyone should be able to say “yeah, i wouldn't like to be pepper-sprayed, or hit by a car, or molested by a family member, so i guess i shouldn’t so that to someone else.” The fact that chris didn’t even consider the feelings of his victims has nothing to do with his ASD. He’s just a shitty person who’s never learned to consider anyone but himself, because he’s never had to. He’s always been coddled, and always gotten away with everything he’s done with relatively few consequences. He may also be a narc or a sociopath, but even that’s not an excuse. He knew enough to lie about his actions, which shows that he knew they were wrong, or at the very least, wouldn’t be accepted by other people.
