Before I say anything and I know that I am stating the obvious, but what Chris did was incredibly insensitive, disgusting and overall just plain wrong. I do feel awful for him and I really hope people are being as nice they can be to him right now and I hope he ends up getting the help that he needs. You can't introduce evidence "on (or from) the internet" without a process. Things have to be authenticated and shown to be legitimate. Anyone can fake text messages and post them somewhere. Audio is also increasingly easy to manufacture. That's why I'm sure they wanted to- and very well may have gotten- incriminating statements from Chris and\or Barb. I'm not saying I don't think those texts and audio are real- I do- but it's a process that could be complicated if things go to trial (unlikely).
