From what I gather, Chris's acceptance of alcohol has increased, while his life quality has gone down and his depression is obvious. My question is do you think the two factors correlate? I wonder if Chris has any drinks to cope with his awful life. Is it possible that Chris could be a alcoholic?
We are not even sure he still drinks. He used to be a bit of a drinker, but like a lot of things, he might have lost interest in Reeb after awhile.
It would probably be caused by the after effects of his drinking too much that could cause him to lose interest, I bet. He had been drunk at least once, I think.
He'd like to go out to bars, but even if he did he'd have a single beer and play his DS. Barb won't let him go out though.
In wider answer to the question, he's never had a problem with potential alcoholism. I don't think he's ever given serious consideration to drinking for drinking's sake.
he'd order one drink and probably loiter until he'd worn out his welcome. he may be depressed, but he's cheap/poor. can you imagine him showing up at a bar in the middle of the day (his prime awake hours) and order one long island ice tea, then sip it and spread his vidya out over the bar? he'd get bounced in an hour.
Chris seems to drink more alcohol that he used to once he decided that it's fucking awesome but it's certainly not near the level of alcoholism.
I think it's funny how Chris seems to have no idea how booze works because he says it "causes liver dysfunction and likely bar fights and automobile accidents" but it can only cause liver problems if you drink too much too often (unless you have a pre-existing liver problem.) Bar fights are typically only arguments between drunken dudes and if it gets physical they get kicked out, if they continue getting physical outside the cops are called in. As long as you don't get drunk off your ass and/or you have a sober (or more sober) buddy there to stop it before it starts you should be good.
Also, drunk driving is a choice you don't just get drunk and become magically attracted to a car and then cause havoc. Most regular people have a sober friend drive them home or take a cab or bus.
Alcohol is perfectly fine in reasonable amounts, but we all know Chris doesn't seem to know (or care) about moderation.
Nah. He drinks because drinking is what you do at a bar. He wants to go to bars because he has the basic understanding that he can meet new people at a bar.

This might be a problem. Chris's "not my fault" attitude toward his own actions might one day make him decide that it's perfectly okay to drive drunk, because that's just "what you do" when you drink.
He might not be aware he's above legal limit either. You don't have to be shitfaced to blow above the limit. And with his legal troubles mostly concerning automobiles, he may be wise to not drink anywhere he has to drive to.

Chris seems to only drink alcohol to seem like an "adult." Whenever I've seen him drink in videos he seems to not like the taste and has trouble swallowing it (in before no problem swallowing navy). When he does drink it seems to be mostly fruity flavored stuff, possible he can't handle the strong stuff. Knowing him and he's addiction to sweets and sugary things...
