People are just saying she's demented, over and over again, based on literally nothing. No doctor has ever made such a diagnosis.

I think its possible in the past she had more times of being lucid.

Dementia and shit tends to be a progressive disease. Early on, she probably came off as lucid to people who interacted with her during the day and shit and then she'd enter periods of being less so. Over time though she'd start losing those periods of being lucid. I don't think its that people who said she was faking were lying, but rather were encountering her during lucid periods.

Chris probably resented him for that. Bob came from the generation where you didn't have a diagnosis of Autism, you just had a kid that needed a kick in the pants or tough love. Or you put them in institution. I think in the latter years of his life, Bob tried to do as much as he could for Chris, but the dye was already cast. You can't unlearn behaviors you've been doing for over 20 years in a few years, especially without professional help.

I know Bob said he loved Chris as he was when he was passing, but I can't help but think that he must have been massively disappointed in his son. Early Chris, the boy who was obsessed about video games and finding love, sure he wasn't perfect or what you probably dream of as your son, but compared to how Chris was when Bob passed...I can't imagine.

anyone who believes this is a retard. it can be inferred by the amount of times chris mentions that barb said to stop in both the text messages and the phone calls that she was not okay with what was happening

You can't diagnose someone with dementia based on a brief video clip, especially when it's someone who has a history of playing up her health problems to manipulate people. Is it possible that Barb has dementia? Certainly. But no one can state it as fact at this point.

If she hasn’t been formally diagnosed in the past she’s undergoing evaluations of her mental state at this very moment and that diagnosis will be made shortly. (Or not, but I think it will.)

Dementia is weird and terrifying. It can take years for it to properly set in and you alternate between periods of being completely fine and being utterly demented. There are plenty of examples of people in the public eye managing to hide their dementia for years and years, passing off any episodes as little quirks, look at Reagan. Barb hasn't been officially diagnosed but the signs are all there if you know what to look for, especially with Chris' recent comments about her "memory coming back" regarding her early childhood - regression is a hallmark. Plus dementia tends to make your boundaries loose and people get horny, wouldn't be shocking if she had some sundowning episode and was inappropriate with Chris in some small way and that made him feel it was okay to rape her
