The "third date rule" was more of a guarantee of sex. Date three required sex, but it could happen before that if the qt girl so desired. That is why he invented "dating education". Sex-ed only helps you out once you get to the third date. Dating ed starts you down the road at date number one.

oh god help me i just realized… he may have been legitimately trying to get her pregnant… from personal experience you dont try to do it more than every three days with your trying to get pregnant because something about sperm needing to regenerate or something i cant remember specifically… he could of very easily found this out online reading about the subject

Horrifying thought.

I have a more simple theory. Chris is into the occult now. 3 is a sacred number. He prefaces that he has a divine mandate to "sleep with" barb. It begins to add up from there. To grant his horrid actions a sense of greater self he does his deed every 3 days.
