Chis long ago learned that being pitied gets him things he wants without having to work for them, so he sees pity as the ideal strategy. Take a look at just about every email or phone call, soon enough Chris starts with his "Oh poor me!" act. So of course he reworks his memories to make himself the ultimate victim, it's become a reflex.

Trying to remember anything not Sonic or Pokemon-related causes him stress.

He's just really selective.

Example: Chris keeps giving different, more absurd accounts of the Nathanael Greene incident all of which paint him as the victim and the school principal and faculty as being autism-hating monsters. I personally believe the incident is mostly Chris' fault (he threw a tantrum in class and was taken to the principal's office where it got worse) and ever since doesn't want to acknowledge he was in the wrong.
This is what I've always thought as well.

Chrissy remembers things as he wants/wanted them to be.

That's pretty much it; what actually happened is pretty irrelevant to him.

Chris is like an electron*. He will always choose the path of least resistance. In the case of his memory, it's easier to retcon the facts so that prickly-wicklies do not have to be confronted, dealt with, or even acknowledged. Drew porn of Megan? "My bad. No, wait... YOUR bad! Yes... Yes that's much more comfortable ...bitch."

*a fat, gay electron that dresses like a positron.
