Every social network should be approached in a different way, specially the modern ones. In Facebook, it's all about your "friends", and the crap you and your friends actively post. It's a very "internet 2.0" way of doing it. Twitter is kinda of the evolution of Facebook: you can center around what you or your "friends" post, or you can just go and look for what other people that aren't in your circle do, something that's a little harder (or even discouraged) to do on Facebook. Instagram started with that same premisse: you post a picture and you scroll your feed to see what your friends are posting, it's sort of a "web 2.5" way of doing things.
But Instagram evolved, alongside Youtube it started to actually promote content creators more than "your friends", and it actually evolved to a place where people go to see the "discovery" or the Reels tab more than actually see the booring crap their friends are posting. That's the "web 3.0" way of doing a social network: you use a very powerful algorithm to analyze and see what a certain user is into, and you just keep feeding the user content from creators and improving over the feedback.

And that's why TikTok is so popular, it's algorithm is extremely good at feeding you content, so much you won't actually find many people that hate on it if they used it long enough. All that tik tok cringe you see on compilations? You won't see that if you actually use Tik Tok, unless you're one of those sadistic retards that like to see cringe videos, the algorithm will know! Like woodworking? You'll only see that. Are you a coomer that masturbates to e-girls? Too bad, you'll only see e-girls doing dance trends all day. Tik Tok is so avantgarde that you don't even need friends to use it, just make an acc and start scrooling and it'll start learning about your taste and feeding you accordingly.
