Thing is, playing Devil’s Advocate here, Chris has a much better case for being trans than a hell of a lot of troons. While I am by no means a tranny sympathizer, I completely understand their point.
In the tranny's eyes, anyone who declares themselves to be a woman is factually, unarguably and absolutely a woman same as a biological woman.
While most of society (including me) doesn't really share this idea, people will accomodate the trans community by calling them their preferred pronouns out of convenience so no spergouts and arguments take place.
To the troon, this idea is uncomfortable as it would mean people use preferred pronouns out of social necessity/convenience than actual acceptance of the notion that trans people ARE their preferred gender.
Now, when society at large condemns a troon for committing an atrocity and returns to their cis pronouns, the masquerade is dropped, because to the troon, if we really accepted trans rhetoric, we would refer to Chris as we would any other biological woman, just like we wouldn't suddenly start to call a female child rapist a man or "an it".

Thus, trans people realize that people's recognition of them as their preferred gender is actually conditional, and has to be "earned" and could be revoked at any time, as opposed to just being a real, biological fact, a luxury cis women and men indeed have regardless of what atrocities they commit (nobody refers to Hitler as a woman or an object).

In light of this situation, troons believe they've discovered a climate in which, no matter what, people will never truly recognize their preferred genders as their own, because it could be arbitrarily revoked by society for any sort of crime.
So, if Chris Chan's gender identity becomes irrelevant and the fruit of perversion because he committed a crime, any other troon would also feel called out, as when people believe Chris Chan was never a real woman, they must believe no troon was ever their preferred gender (which lots of people don't), geopardizing the entire narrative they've strived for years to cultivate.

This incident pretty much high lighted how many people actually believe that gender identity is a fairy tale and has no grounds in reality, for when some serious shit happens, everybody drops the friendly charade and reveals their true beliefs.

If I were a tranny, everything would unraveling and my wish for people to recognize me as a woman would meet the fact that people don't actually believe it.
