Cracks open a cider and waits for our hero's version of events. I imagine it will be something like "Damn yellow shirted troll and his jerkop slaves! SONIC'S ARMS ARE NOT BLUE!!!"

Wonder how and why he was released so quickly and if anything more will come of this incident.

He posted bond. His amount was set this morning, someone came up with cash or bond before lunch. Not unusual at all.

For those who don't know how bail and bond work in the United States, here's a quick rundown: When you're arrested, unless you're a flight risk or are clearly dangerous to society (CWC is NOT either of those) it is your right to have bail set reasonably and speedily. That is set by a judge during an arraignment or bail hearing. The whole purpose of "video court" was to see the judge and hear how much the bail amount is, and find out the next court date (the continuance, which I believe is set for 2/2.) You can then choose to do nothing, and stay in jail until the next court appearance, post the full amount of bail in cash (which is returned following the conclusion of the trial) or pay a bondsman 10% of the amount (non-refundable.) This is all to ensure people appear for their court dates, either lose a lot of cash or the bondsman will come finding you, since he posted the money to get you out.

This is Christian Weston Chandler we're talking about. I expect a full-fledged pity party on facebook.

I'm with my fellow Pickle here...public defenders don't really care about your case enough to set down rules, and even if the PD did tell him not to talk about it, the chances of him obeying are slim to none.

Oh, thank-you for that bit of information! Makes a lot more sense now.

Do you happen to know that despite getting out on bond if Chris will have to pay the full $5,000 bail over time? (Sorry for the bothersome questions; I honestly don't know the legal system all too well)

We may not get any mental gymnastics on facebook if he's been told to keep his stupid mouth shut, but Thetan and Catie should definitely be checking their phones for pity mongering/money requests. I guarantee he's not above that.

The court sets bail, let's say it's $5,000. That means you can either deposit $5,000 with the court (or its equivalent in property) as surety that you will attend your trial, or you can go to a bail bondsman to deposit the $5,000. The bondsman requires a fee, typically 10%, and will send bounty hunters to find you if you neglect your court date (in order to protect his $5,000). In a lot of jurisdictions, though, you can simply deposit the 10% with the court and they'll accept it in lieu of the full amount.

That's a intresting question, There might be more money than Chris knows about from Bob / other sources she might be hiding it from Chris so he doesn't piss it away on lego an mlp.

eBay funds? That would be pure schadenfreude if his eBay lego money was used as bail money for his tantrum over a fucking video game. We know Barb has access to his accounts.
