Chris is not going for an insanity plea. The only people think this are retards that might be as retarded as chris is.

Chris lives in the present. He does not understand concepts like linear time or how an action can have a reaction.
He may have some abstract understanding of how a sequence of events may be interlinked and one event leads to another
but he has no mental capability to understand it applies to him or his actions.

In chris mind, anything that happens happens in the present and the future, even the immediate future, is impossible to predict.
He can not predict the consequences of his actions, even 5 minutes forward.

We have decades of evidence of chris to know this is how his brain works.
The whole idea that chris has some scheme or is planning something is so ridiculous. He does not scheme, he does not plan, he does not even understand what he does right now might affect him 5 minutes in the future.

He is chris. He lives in the present. He has no past and he can not grasp the concept of future time.

That is not how it works. Insanity pleas can only be given to people that do not know that what they did is wrong.
This means he cannot hide his actions, have premeditation, or try fleeing when found out. He has done all three.

I'm assuming all these allusions to Christianity is due to him having nothing else to do but read the bible, the only thing he would have at least a passing interest in.

When he's been in there long enough to get bored of the bible and actually start checking out the prison library could be interesting if he writes to people enough we can keep track of it.
He might drop every book 2 chapters in but it would still be more interesting than a cartoon or game character.
If the prison allows people to send him books (some let you order books of your choice too I guess, maybe that would be enough motivation to work inside) I wonder if he could just get videogame and cartoon shit though.
He's not stuck with just the bible or nothing, but I don't know if he realizes that yet or just isn't bored enough and believes he'll be back to his videogames soon.
