Chris's mental state appears to lend itself to a kind of confabulation in which the details of imaginary events are fused with real ones. How much of this is on purpose and how much is involuntary is impossible to tell.

I don't think the problem is how involuntary it may or may not be, I think the problem is that he believes that what he wants is more important than what is.

It's not a matter of his memory being bad, it's a matter of him choosing what he wants to remember and how he wants to remember it.

In his recent Facebook posts where he was railing against male gay marriage, he remembers it as gay trolls trying to make him gay and that's why he's against it. He assumed the trolls were gay because he hates gay people because of an alleged gay principal that he no longer talks about. It's not a matter of what Chris remembers, it a matter of how he constantly reconstructs memories to better suit his current feelings.

Possibly. Frankly, absent a battery of diagnostic tests, it's impossible to tell one way or the other.

I think Chris' terrible memory is best demonstrated when he lied that he found a girlfriend at gamestop and as soon as Ivy came into his life, he forgot he had even lied about meeting this other girl.

Unless he was just lying that he forgot to keep his butt safe from people accusing him of adultery.

I think that's maybe more of an example of Chris just saying what's convenient at the time. It suited his needs to claim he had a girlfriend at that point. Unfortunately for Chris though, he's got an entire legion of people recording and disassembling his antics, then throwing them back in his face.
