Chris's spending on iPhone games

Well, Chris thinks fictional characters are real so he probably figures he's investing in a 'real' city...

Does he still think this? If he does, that makes his abandonment of CWCville and Sonichu all the worse. Way to be a neglectful parent, Chris.

How can anyone enjoy that garbage? It looks about as stimulating as a coloring book.

As a Simpsons fan, I find it irritating how all these Springfield landmarks just seem to be slapped next to each other, with no consideration for proportion or scale or logical placement. No wonder Chris loves it so much.

Based on your wording I'm not sure if you realize this or not: Chris is actually in charge of placing all of those buildings. The entirety of the game is deciding on the layout of the Springfield.

That explains a lot. I thought the buildings were (at least mostly) predetermined and the point of the game was to place and/or interact with the citizens of Springfield.

Nope. Basically you save up in-game money, which you get for logging in and clicking on stuff at certain intervals, to buy the next building in the list and decide where it goes. Then when you place it some character related to the building interacts with some other character and there is a short scene, rinse and repeat. You can also buy extra buildings for real money, or buy in-game money instead of slowly building it up. Sometimes adding a building will add a new character to your town, but you can also buy additional ones (for real money, natch).

That's why Chris's Springfield looks so cluttered; that's the way he wanted it. Everything from the roads to the trees to what areas are cement and what areas are grass are all up to Chris.

Can we have the CWCki updated with this info, along with estimates on how much Chris has spent on it?

Judging by the screenshots, that CADD degree hasn't done much good.

Alright! Now I know where the :tugboat: has been going to. This is funny seeing Chris attempt to be a Simpsons fan. I was a big fan of the Simpsons during the 90s (I have the DVD seasons up to 8 minus 4) so I can recognize all things from the Lisa Statue from Genesis Tub to Handsome Pete.

See, this is why I stay away from iPhones, addictive Facebook games.

I find it funny how you've got a lot of phone games with a "spend money to skip doing actual work" button, it's practically tailor-made for lazy people with too much money to burn like Chris.

I am a very casual gamer. It's utterly shocking to me that it's even possible to spend up to $1000 on add-ons to a shitty video game. I had to psych myself up to shell out $60 for GTA IV. Chris is on FUCKING WELFARE and he thinks nothing of buying every single bauble to fill out this game. Four figures! And this is just one of many games, and it's probably not even one of his favorites. I am just completely blown away here. This tells me two things: 1) I should get into the video game biz; and 2) I don't care what Marvin says about what Chris might have learned about money management, he has no sense of priorities and will not be able to survive independently. This is because he will be completely incapable of saving ANYTHING. And that means he will be unprepared for emergencies, and will eventually find himself in deep shit. I don't want to go into another speculative foray about his future financial situation, but I just don't see how someone with such a compulsion to spend money can make it in the long term. I mean, even with all the anxiety about money, the bitching from Barb about paying for gas, the hatred towards Snyder and Bell for ripping them off, he still sees absolutely no reason to change his behavior.

Chris has pretty much spent the same amount of money on this small portion of his virtual life than I do yearly on going out drinking with friends. Just trying to put that into perspective. *yawn*

Do these expenditures get billed to your phone bill, or how does the payments work?

I'm curious about Chris's current credit card standpoint, right now.

Typically anything being purchased through an app is charged to your itunes account, which is linked with a credit card. Or Chris buys a lot of itunes cards. Which is really all the same. I'm sure somewhere along the line Chris convinces himself that he's not spending that much :tugboat:

It's--it's only NINETY-NINE AMERICAN CENTS. I need ta get it while its a bargain!

Honestly, I'm subscribing to the theory that Chris has managed to get more credit cards since Bob's passing.

Yeah, this would explain why there's a prison right next to several commercial venues (see the second picture).

I would like to commend the OP for this excellent find, I think it should be uploaded to the CWCki. But before we do that, I am still somewhat worried about its authenticity. While this doesn't look like something an epic ween kid would fabricate (i.e there's nothing too outrageous in Uzumaki's post), I would still like to see some definite proof that these are indeed authentic screenshots of a CWC created virtual city.

Well, I'd be far more willing to believe Chris made it than that some ween spent a crapload of money just to fool some internet goers, unless it was photoshopped.

Should be easy to confirm. Someone dig up the facebook post where he posts his username to verify that it is Sonichu (it is), then add him and have a look at the city for yourself. He just added me within a few hours of my request.

Edit: Do it quick though, there's always a chance of him seeing this.

Isn't there a pony game of similar clicking and buying?

If he's spending that much money on apps, how does he even survive in real life? He could've used that money for some needs like food to eat instead of McDs and fast food. By food, I mean actual food not processed crap. Not to sound A-Loggy but how the hell can he still survive in real life while spending that much money on apps? Does he not feel hunger in real life despite spending so little on his real life needs? :alog:

If Chris had spent that much on an electric guitar and spent the amount of time he wasted playing that game learning how to play the guitar. He would have at the very least learned a song and have the possibility to get laid. Not with a hot girl mind you but someone of maybe similar appearance to him.

I think there's an Alec call where he basically points out that Chris refuses to do something unpleasant with a higher reward when there's an easier alternative that drags things out longer than necessary. This game epitomizes it. There's very little game play, just really nice small rewards that sprinkle down that take a while to actually cement into anything.

I also don't think this is a problem Chris exclusively has either. It's something I've noticed with lots of people over the years, the lazy alternative is generally the more popular option. It's why credit cards prey on people like Chris.
