mostly the parts where the ocean turns into blood maybe its just me but i don't see how that is necessary for the rapture to happen.

A lot of that shit is metaphorical more than an actual description of whats going to happen during the end times. I don't think a 1st century Jewish man imprisoned on a Greek island has rhe vocabulary to describe all the crazy shit that's going to happen before Christ comes back.

Also, I don't even think the Rapture is even going to happen since it is mentioned nowhere in the Revelations and the one place that could sound like it is talks about all the elect gathering around Christ AFTER he cones back, not getting all of them before then and leaving everyone else to suffer. Only evangelical and evangelical-adjacent churches believe that and that is the result of weird 1800s religious revivals in America, not fundamental Christian beliefs.
 
So when is christ even supposed to return? People have been saying shit like that since the day he died, and I can't be arsed to go to church if I don't know the bloke actually exists and has all these divine powers.

Christianity already was in contact with the Greeks within its first century of existence and many early Christians mixed aspects of Greek philosophy with the Christian faith like St Justin Martyr. Hell in the Bible itself, St. Paul shows knowledge of the Stoic and Epicurean schools pf philosophy in addition to other Greek philosophers and Greek culture in general. That's not even mentioning the 1st century BC Jews that did the same like Philo.
The Levant is not fucking Saudi Arabia for the last time. They've had steady contact with the Greeks and Persians for at least 600 years before Christ, starting with the Persians via Cyrus, then the Selucids and Persians. The Levant and Greece are distinct cultures with a very intertwined history.

“Turn The Other Cheek” (Matthew 5:38-40)

Jesus said “When someone strikes you on your right cheek, turn the other one to
him as well.” Did Jesus mean that we should allow others to bully us? NO!
In the culture of Jesus’ day, and in many Eastern Cultures even today, the right
hand is considered clean, and is used for ‘clean’ activities, such as eating. The left
hand is used for other things, and is considered ‘unclean’. ( I won’t elaborate!)
When a person struck someone, it was done with the back of their hand. In this
case, Jesus is very specific. The person who is struck is hit on their ‘right cheek’.
This means that the bully used the back of their right hand to strike. This would be
the common method of striking someone, using the ‘clean’ hand.
By telling his audience to ‘turn the other cheek’, Jesus was not telling his listeners
to be passive. Jesus was telling them not to retaliate by returning violence for
violence. Instead, stand your ground and challenge the bully by turning your head
and inviting them to strike you on the left cheek, forcing them the use the back of
their unclean hand. This would have been an inappropriate use of that left hand
according to their culture, and would create a dilemma for the bully.
So, you see, Jesus wasn’t telling his listeners, and us, to acquiesce to injustice.
Jesus was encouraging us to refuse to cooperate with violence, and to challenge
an injustice by using a creative response.


I would call applying their own standard of what happens to insulting statues to their own statues quite "creative".

TL;DR: Research a religion before you spout retarded memes about it on the Internet, especially if it is the basis of your way of life, the fact that science and technology is where it is today and why you haven't been faceraped by barbarians 10 times today.
