The Agony Booth website was my first exposure to Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny. Most unfortunately however some woke reviewers and recappers bought the website at some point and hid all the old content behind a paywall.

I watched Christmas Vacation for the first time recently.
I've been a fan of the original Vacation since I was a little kid and I've seen European Vacation and Vegas Vacation, but somehow Christmas Vacation always slipped by me all these years, until now.
And it was worth the wait because wow, what a hilarious, awesome movie that is.
Jack Frost (1979) is a fable about two incels of opposite varieties who fight each other while a Chad snatches their Stacy. Also, there is a groundhog in it for no reason at all.
Blue Christmas!
one of the lesser-known influences on Neon Genesis Evangelion, it's where "dude hallelujah chorus, bro", the train scene, and "Blood Pattern: Blue" comes from
somewhat on the slow side like a lot of Japanese movies, still a pretty good watch, especially if you want to see footage of old NYC
the finished movie doesn't have that amazing scene with The President of the USA that's in the trailer
My icon is the character Noël from...Noël, a 1992 animated Christmas Special by Romeo Muller of Rankin/Bass fame. I grew up with it because someone in my family along the way recorded it onto a VHS from a live showing of it. I was also exposed to old Christmas commercials this way.
I had a rush of memory watching this, as I was one of many youngsters who watched it back in 92. This special really hits home for me because, just like the family that moves in at the end, my family followed those old timey traditions: tree goes up Christmas Eve, stays up 'til the New Year, even those old traditional glass ornaments, I think our box calls them European style. The only difference is the tree was decorated all during the day and my sister and I helped (and I still help my mom decorate the tree for that matter).
Last year one of the said traditional European style ornaments slipped and fell (and broke) while we were decorating the tree. I cried even though I hadn't even touched that ornament, and I think latent memories of this special were the cause of that.

the true Alpha Troll that is Oscar The Grouch comes up with a way to trigger Big Bird's autism and thus begins Oscar's keikaku to ruin Christmas for everybody
also those two gay guys do the Gift Of The Magi thing

It's rare that you find a kid's cartoon, much less a holiday special that teaches you about fiat currency and does so in a way that makes it perfectly understandable. I also liked how Jack Frost didn't get the girl at the end. Because that seemed very realistic. That sort of thing happens in the real world all of the time. I absolutely hated how Disney's The Little Mermaid changed the ending of its original story and replaced it with a Boss Fight and a Happily Ever After. It destroys the whole point of the story which was "sometimes life doesn't work out the way you hope it would.. Even if you sacrifice everything." (Of course, the original Little Mermaid DOES end up getting what she wanted - a soul and immortality. She thought a mermaid could only get it by marrying a human, but it turns out they can also get it by doing several hundred years of post-death community service.)
Huh for some reason I can't find or Don't have the first home alone on dvd or Blu Ray but I have the second...odd. anyways got that, a Christmas story the one the only original, die hard 1 & 2 and gremlins all ready for a special movie night
