Don't know if this has been pointed out yet. Came across someone on LiveJournal in 2011 using this character for their pfp while digging up dirt on a troon and it made me do a doubletake. How did they get an image of Superkiller over a decade ago? Apparently it's an established Marvel character call Speed/Thomas Shepherd. The resemblance between this and CringleJingle's character is uncanny.

Re: the plagiarism accusations, I have no interest in defending Vito, but I very much doubt he copied that Marvel character's design. Vito doesn't have an original thought in his head, but superheroes are the Mexican food of comics: it's the same three or four elements re-arranged a dozen different ways. Two-tone skintight suit (leotard for the ladies), optional cape, mask or eye-covering...see how many superheroes you can think of that don't fit those parameters.

There is nothing particularly original or interesting about Vito or Eric July's character designs, they all look like generic superhero tropes and if you were willing to take the time you could probably find dozens of existing characters that look similar to Superkiller, Isom, Yaira or anything else they've created. This isn't necessarily a bad thing btw, you can be extremely derivative while still doing something original and refreshing (Mark Millar's Kick-Ass is a good example, or obviously Watchmen).

TL;DR plagiarism is the least of Vedo's worries, the fact his comic is poorly drawn/written garbage is of much greater concern.

Do we have any reason to assume that Vito designed what the character looks like? If I had to guess he gave the artist a description of what SK does and he came up with the look on his own. The artist studied design and designed mascots for public events, coming up with character designs is exactly in his wheelhouse, it's comics that he is self taught in. I've only briefly looked at his social media, which is easily findable with his legal name btw, and he posts almost exclusively about Marvel shit, especially X-Men and especially Gambit.

It is because Vito is a moron and he thinks what he is doing is winning. It is a defining trait among cows that they fail to understand how normal people perceive things. I have brought it up so many times over the years in the MovieBob thread that part of the reason why Bob behaves the way he does is because he is insecure about his lot in life and thus he tries to make himself appear smarter with his tirades on Twitter, failing because he fails to understand that the things he tweets out are genuinely stupid in the eyes of functional human beings.
