eh I can’t really blame the enablers too much. She always had doctors backing her up, prescriptions for every one of her toys, and long hospital stays to “prove” she was really sick. She rarely even had to ask twice for some radical intervention like the GJ tube that ultimately killed her (she never had an NG or NJ, just right to surgery) which makes it seem like she was really as sick as she claimed, and she never failed to get the diagnosis she wanted. She picked rare illnesses with vague symptoms and no definitive tests. Some of her problems like her “immune deficiency” were incidental findings from her getting every test under the sun, then shed take that incidental finding to her concierge doc who referred her to a specialist and voila, she needs $15,000 worth of intravenous immunoglobulin every month to fix a problem that probably wasn’t actually a problem but a blip on a blood test. Anyone has these. Get enough tests and you’ll find something wrong with you.
Her family didn’t suspect her because she had all the proof she needed that she was as sick as she claimed. I’m not blaming the doctors either. There’s only so much they can when they have 15 minutes to hear your life story and come up with a plan.
Yeah I saw that right after it was posted. Methinks no one there wanted to be “that guy”. S’allright. I followed Jaq since before the YouTube days. I’ll be the bitch. She was faking, she was manipulative, she wasted resources, she held her family hostage to her medical whims, she spread misinformation, and she is the reason she died at 23. The longer it is past the initial shock that she actually done killed herself in a really gruesome way, the less I feel sad that it happened. The IVIG she was using needs like 10,000 plasma donations for a single dose, and she was constantly seeking out something even more outrageously rare and shiny that she “needed.”
