Careercow Chuck Wendig / Charles Wendig / TerribleMinds - Terrible author, terrible person, ruined Internet Archive's online library

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Sadly, Chuck Windbag is enjoying this. He matters again now. He doesn't matter at his own company, being sidelined increasingly for not being diverse or young enough. He didn't have matter enough to be the father in his own household. Western Comics have been dead for literal years, so few people can even know his name, and few in that audience know him. More people know Japanese manga authors whose names they can't pronounce thanks to Manga replacing Western comics.

When you stab a ghoul, it doesn't recoil. The pain and the blood make it smile, for it's proves to the ghoul that it's still alive.
He's your typical soy wraith, a creature that feeds off all manner of emotions so long as it makes him the center of attention. That and he's desperate for any kind of publicity since his crappy Magic Skeleton and Accidents books failed to kick off.

His stupid apology letter over kickstarting this damn lawsuit is a hollow lie, but he's loving every minute of this because in the eyes of the failed diva, any publicity is good publicity, and real life confrontations will just give him the opportunity to play the victim card. Ever since this soymilquetoast faggot had his existence publicized to the world back in 2013 for his godawful stories, he's managed to make whining to get what you want and cementing the idea that you can get a free pass to write as terribly as you want (so long as you make godawful LGBTBBQ characters and use them as a shield) the new status quo.

Now his faggotry will lead to the end of the best (albeit flawed) online library and he's just grinning his usual soy grin as people pelt him with tomatoes. He and every other attention whoring leech like him deserves to be expunged from the fucking gene pool, so I hope with all my being that his wife's kid really isn't his.

Here's something I've learned from Andrew Tate and his cult fanboys: you don't need to pass on genes to pass on habits, especially bad ones.
He's a soy version of Adam Savage.

So if he is seemingly getting that little royalties from his books if IA shows how little interest there is in them, and his latest work failed… how much money does he have left? Cause I doubt he has that much. All the more so if this association with IA’s destruction and resulting hatred on all of Twitter will make him too toxic for publishers to consider. In which case I’d be amused to see what he’s forced to do to pay the bills.

There's no way this guy wasn't acting as a passive dildo in this lawsuit. He's your standard hack, corporate dick-sucking SJW "writer". I'll bet Disney gave him some little payment (or considering the low rent nature of these fools, a promise of some low-paying work) in exchange for putting his name on the lawsuit.

I looked at the internet archive in more detail and seeing how much could be lost has me wishing the absolute worse happens to Wendig

Edit: So do we have an approximate idea just how much might be lost because of the lawsuit?

Some people aren't buying this excuse that 2 years later, him signing an open letter completely absolves him from his original stance on the matter:

I looked into the article and found this:

So hey, maybe Chuck really did pull a complete 180 and changed his stance on the matter (or maybe he didn't want to keep hearing his peers chastise him for taking such a dimwitted stance). However, there should've been a public statement or tweet of him saying, "Hey, I did say this a few years ago, but have since changed my stance completely." Instead, we have his account locked down, him being mentioned in an open letter against the suit last October, and this guy at IA basically saying "just trust me bro."

Like come the fuck on. Chuck had one simple job to do if he wanted to change public perception, and yet he didn't bother to clear things up 3 years later.
guy wants to have his cake and eat it too. imo a belated statement like this isn't a change of heart. being sorry about the backlash isn't the same as contrition. and tweeting more bullshit def isn't repenting.
guy wasn't content to make the world shittier by art alone. he needed to have it etched into judicial precedent. bravo he has made a difference.

The lawsuit was going ahead regardless so why not pretend to oppose it to get mad twitter replies off your back? It's the same energy as when Jews get confronted about their expansionist ethnostate and reply that they support a "Two State Solution" and peace with Palestine knowing full well that Israel will take more and more territory.
Another good point, especially since by that point it's win-win for Chuck the Cuck.

Sadly, not everything is on libgen and IA had a lot of source materials not handily found anywhere else. Things like issues of the original Weird Tales magazine where copyright to individual stories is extremely murky.
And thanks to this soyfacing cuck piece of shit, it may be destroyed. I hope he gets murdered.

Bit torn about this. Sucks if she was assaulted, she claims she's going to be filing a police report...but why the fuck would the first thing you do be post on Twitter after getting assaulted? Maybe wait until AFTER there's a police report? Wendig's white knighting is by turns hilarious and pathetic, of course. What, pray tell, would Chuck ever do? Especially against some sort of (presumably) violent goon.

If they post it on Twitter first, then 10 to 1 it didn't happen, and they're making shit up for free clout.

>not a single wibbly-wobbly Wendigism
Sounds like Chuck got a PR agent to write this. What a joke, we all know he did it because he got massive heat on him back in 2020. He deserves every bit of what he's getting and more, I say he deserves to be beaten to death with some copies of his own book.

Chuck gets a lot of work because unlike other shitty writers like Patrick Tomlinson, he has a work ethic. Dude shits out a new "how to write" book every year or so and will write for insanely low prices. That's why he keeps getting hired even after public incidents like screeching at Trump supporters so hard he's banned from writing Disney Star Wars shit.

It's sheer coincidence that I started with them, Weird Tales (or at least, all the issues with Lovecraft stories) is the first thing I started downloading last night.

Not glad to hear that their (normie-level, I'm sure a torrent exists) web accessibility could be up in the air because of this.

The IA. Wondering if the courts made them say Chuck did nothing wrong (even though he did)
The courts likely did not ask nor force them to do this, however in a legal battle if the party connected to threats and harassment doesn’t make a statement of condemnation, if you get the wrong judge it is not impossible for an appeal or other legal issue to be affected negatively.
This was probably something their legal counsel and team recommended as a good faith act in case Chud decided to take this “attack” further.

Almost all of those old pulp magazines are public domain and free to download. I think places like Comic Book Plus also have copies of them.

Look at this neat video I found
