This 'private security guy' (aka cosplay mercenary) seems a typical radicalized nut who decided living his assassin dreams would be his midlife crisis cope. A few years ago, a 51-year-old Canadian denturist managed to kill over twenty people in a couple of days of shootings and arson by decking himself out as a cop, complete with uniform and vehicle. He kept entering homes and stealing cars, murdering all the way, and evading capture until he was finally shot by police at a gas station. Authorities never gave a definitive motive, but there's speculation he was obsessed with both pandemic and Justin Trudeau conspiracies. Plus he was angry asshole. Anyway, he went around shooting folks in rural Nova Scotia because ... he was mad and he was nuts and had his nuts ideas about people he didn't like needing to die. This Boelter guy seems similar, only his targets are overly political and he, so far, has been way less successful in checking off names whereas Denture Murder Cop was more open to shooting random people not on his kill list.

I mean, sure, there could be a deep state MKULTRA superconspiracy where covert agent Vancey B was activated by Democrat-controlled space lasers but, realistically, this is probs just another useless shithead with political brain rot.

Local news reporting that the Sibley County Sheriff confirms the abandoned vehicle found this morning near the suspect's residence did belong to the the suspect.

According to this news source the wife and "other family members" who were in the car have been detained for questioning. While they have not been "arrested" per se they are being questioned.

He is initially being charged for second degree murder and lesser charges. Not first degree murder. This is because Minnesota requires a grand jury to indict for first degree murder. A grand jury will be empaneled and presented with the evidence to decide whether to hand up the indictment. This will take some time.
