Circlejerks that get old

Gamer Gate is annoying and dead. The many things that spawned from or are things that run through the same vein as Gaymer Gayte are just as annoying. I'm tired of people finding the weakest link and going "haaaaa look all these idiots look like this haaaaaa that's why I'm right haaaaa". Those not even involved were very affected by who could throw the biggest turd.

The sun could fucking implode and instantaneously wipe out all life from this planet and against all odds some entitled shitstain would find a way to reinter this mortal coil and complain to the charred husks of once-living humans about how the complete destruction of all intelligent life on earth was all GamerGates fault.

The modern internet is almost nothing but circlejerks and echo chambers these days, people don't intermingle like they used to do in the web of old.

It sucks, I actually wish I could communicate with SJWs more without threat of getting banned or them simply refusing to communicate or falling back on vicious ad hominem attacks when they run out of actual talking points.

That last one is what really kills it, it's always "manbaby, virgin, incel, basement dweller" with those assholes when they know they're wrong when you happen to find yourself in a position to actually engage with them.

Life is too short to put up with that shit.

The wild west days of the internet are long gone. :(

We should just seal up Twitter as a containment zone.

SJWs go on and on about how diverse and inclusive they are. Until you disagree with them. Then suddenly that all turns to REEEEEEEE. They can't handle actual diversity. It's all talk.

The environment argument is a meme. They always try to group it in with other communist bullshit which is where they lose me and everyone else.

I legitimately believe that if there isn't significant progress made in the next 20 years, within 100 years significant parts of the planet will just not support human life.

There is zero science supporting that statement. There is some science stating that the poles will hear in the next century (90% of expected warming not 2 degrees everywhere).

To be clear, you believe this guy

There's nothing wrong with an occasional circlejerk. Sometimes you just wanna go out with the guys, drink, smoke some meth, drop some E, and go to the bathhouse.

I feel that getting pissy about circlejerks is itself a circlejerk. Everyone has different interests, diversity of thought is valuable ... just let it go.

Though even circlejerking about circlejerks may produce some value, so don't take my criticism seriously. Do what you feel you need to do. I certainly don't know everything.

the saddest realization about all the social media censorship that has divided the internet into circlejerks is that the heads of the corporations doing it probably don't even give a shit about politics, they're just doing it because their analytics show that SJWs are more likely to click ads.

It's already happening. There's a lot of places on Earth where the only reason we can live there is due to advances in technology. Places like rural Australia and the Arabian Peninsula are starting to become hard to live in even with our technology. Yes we will always technically be able to live everywhere in small groups, but you can kiss any settlements of note in the Arabian Desert or the Australian Outback goodbye.

Next it'll be the American Midwest, and with that goes most of the food. The only reason the Midwest is livable is because of the Ogallala Aquifer, which is somewhere between 60-70 years from depletion at the current rates. Climate change bringing less rain and more intense heat means greater depletion rates.

I really haven't done too much research this, but don't we only have around 200-300 years of precise climate data? Even before that, there were long periods of abnormal climate like the Medieval Warm Period. I'm not entirely convinced what's going on right now isn't part of some natural climate cycle we don't know about.

We're at or above the Roman Warm Period in terms of global temperature. We know this because Romans kept meticulous details on crops, and during the Roman Warm Period they were able to plant and keep date trees in Greece. Well we can do that today.

Moreover other periods of abnormal heating or cooling can be tied to solar activity. For instance, the Little Ice Age is thought to be caused by a Grand Solar Minimum. Well, we are in what we believe to be a GSM right now, with some of the lowest levels of solar activity seen in decades.

Don't take my word for it, go look at the data for yourself. Tbh if you take all of the information together it's a pretty grim and spooky picture. I don't think we'll see half the people living in the tropics that we do today in the next 100 years. I also think we'll see the virtual disappearance of tropical agriculture goods like coffee and chocolate from poorer tables. Mind you, Americans and Euros will probably be able to afford it, but that's about it.

Bullshit.
The planet is greening as increased CO2 causes plants to use LESS water for growth.
There's no way you can rationally argue that warmer temps. equal less precipitation.
For christs sake the Antarctic is classified as a desert because it's too COLD for snowfall.

Stop repeating retarded predictions as if they are reality.
