Civvie 11 - Retro FPS Boomer

The future tech is actually one of the more antisemitic plot points, since the justification is that there is a secret Jewish cabal that withholds super tech from the world and the Nazis stole their secrets.
Which kinda kills the whole serious vibe New Ordee tried to build. Like, you have this whole world controlled by Nazis, its a fucked up dystopia and then you find out that its because of a secret Jewish society, that created all these WunderWaffles. Kinda turns a whole thing into a Inglorius Basterds thing.

I felt it was more pulpy in tone rather than serious. But if you want to have your Nazis have super tech at least do it with them using hell energy or something.

Also didn't the second game has an irl US president be a nazi?

Nonono, I think you're thinking of Turning Point Fall of Liberty. In the 2nd game, they had a cameo of Raegan who gets his skull ventilated by Hitler.

Turning Point would be another good game for the show. It had a cool premise, but I remember the game was hated for being mediocre and boring, good gen 7 jank if he's slowly leaning more in that direction. He probably won't have too many interesting things to say about it, but might be fun to see him get angry at the game.
Another good contender would be "Darkest Days". Another good premise, you are a time traveling soldier so you get to fight in the civil war and other time periods. You can use era accurate weapons or the futuristic ones, the premise is fantastic but it was similarly seen as mediocre shovel ware when it came out

I think most he'll say is "Wow, the AI here is retarded as fuck, guns sound weird and its odd how theres no blood in this game", which was among major complaints about it, combined it being short as fuck.

And to think, the devs of Turning Point were selected by Keiji Inafune to not only make Lost Planet 3, but also to collaborate with him on Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z, thus killing both franchises for a while.

Thanks a lot Inafune. Your Western Dev = Automatic Greatness mindset really worked out there.

Wolftenstein: The Old Blood > Wolfenstein: The New Order

To be fair, Dead Rising 2 was objectively better than Dead Rising 1 from all gameplay aspects, and it actually felt like a proper American setting instead of what Japanese think our malls look like in 1. Out of Capcom's whole experiment at that time, Capcom Vancouver/Blue Castle were the best thing to come out of it.
Then again, Capcom is shitting the bed with retarded decisions again so that might have just been dumb luck, but there is an entire thread dedicated to this discussion.
I didn't know Turning Point devs were behind LP3, that actually explains a lot. Same for Yaiba, what a horrid portfolio

I believe the devs also threw a bitchfit, when people said how much the gunplay sucked and there was a lack of blood/gore in Turning Point

Yeah, the devs of Turning Point, Spark Unlimited, tried to defend the game saying that it was meant for a more casual audience and that reviewers are too hard on casual games. Except even casual gamers can take a look at the game and see it’s trash.

Also, I find it funny that it says that because of Winston Churchill dying, Nazi Germany was able to easily win WWII. Because he apparently was the only one standing in the way of them taking over all of Europe, including Russia.

Capcom Japanese devs actually had a very hands on process with DR2's direction, all of its lead staff were Japanese (lead game designer, game designers, art director, executive director, and producers). And it goes to show when they allowed Blue Castle to do their own thing with DR3 and DR4 giving them free autonomy over all aspects of those games.

I still prefer DR1 and the primary reason is because DR2's crafting, while novel, also is gamebreaking since it discourages scavenging especially in multiple playthroughs. Because why pick up things in a store when you can go to a crafting bench near the safehouse entrance that conveniently has jewels and a flashlight to make one of the most powerful weapons in the game (the lightsaber). That and every day man Frank West is still a much more satisfying personality than Chuck Green.
