Finally watched the Prey video, I didn't play the original game but anything that opens with Blue Oyster Cult can't be bad, right? Like the 90's Stand TV mini, that also opened with BOC- Don't Fear the Reaper and it was great. I'll probably pick up a copy for the weekend, as usual Civvie sells me on something I'd never even considered playing prior to his video, the man is determined to turn me into a consoomer.

Prey was decent when i played it back on Xbox 360 but again, it was short. Buying a 15 year old game that isn't in circulation doesn't make you a consoomer. Blue Oyster Cult is a great band to start your game with i agree

Civvie has occasionally said shit on social media like cucking out to Burn Loot Murder and maybe letting the crypto-woke mask slip here and there but overall is a far cry from your run-of-the-mill leftist vidya talking man. He mostly keeps it out of his videos and just delivers what people want. I just get worried when I hear about certain types weaseling their way into higher positions in his orbit like SJW wormtongues but until I see consistent evidence of trouble I'll assume he's smart enough to stay out of it.

No idea. Probably. He doesn't make a huge deal about it with delusions of grandeur akin to most even remotely popular youtubers with the extreme displays of malignant narcissism and spending at least the first 5 minutes of every video being annoying and humblebragging about their face.

He shows pure gameplay with his voice over it and keeps the face sprite mostly to his channel skit sections of videos when he talks to the robotic voices with some actual creativity to his dark humor. He isn't a vlogger, isn't trying to be one, and is a good reviewer.

I think that, while Civvie is quite clearly left-leaning and has been prone in the past towards expressing some leftist views on social media, he does generally tend to dislike expressing political views in his content. I don't think he's even gone near the subject for at least close to a year now, and I do recall that in a more recent video within that time-frame, he even lampooned himself from one of his earlier Christmas videos for saying "Fuck whitey".

But I do agree it's always one of those "wait and see" type of situations with any leftist content creator. A very rare handful are smart enough to avoid shoving political rhetoric down everyone's throats, but most tend to lose their minds sooner or later.

The impression I get of him is that he's leftie but a more nineties-early 2010s moderate liberal much like myself except slightly more left leaning. I don't think so. The reason he created the whole persona of a guy being forced to play shit games was to spite Channel Awesome productions. So, one would hope he learned from their numerous mistakes.

But think about it. To my knowledge he hasn't had any major fuck-ups/controversies. All dissent in twitter/youtube comments gets drowned out by his yes-men.
He compares favorably to other big fps guy GmanLives due to Blood Fresh Supply and Sigil videos (Gman is a clown but i still think that Civvie mentioning him in BFS video was a dick move).
He gets a ton of patreonbux.
He gets attention from actual game devs on twitter and references in their games.
He has a role in a sequel to one of his favorite video games as himself (well not really himself but you get the idea).
All of the above has to be getting to him. Civvie's on top of the world right now, he can't do wrong, ever.

But i'm just a Negative Nellie, pay me no mind.

IIRC he tried to virtue signal on twitter last year over Floyd and the blm riots but I think most people told him to shut the fuck up and limit his public opinions to video games.
