I'd argue that, in America at least, it started before the mass importation with 9/11.
The right's hated the Middle East Arabs since the 1970's, when OPEC started turning the screws. The hatred got more intense with the bombing sprees of the 80's and 90's. The left really started on the Dindu Snackbar love after Desert Storm, when they could cry about how mean US forces were to those poor poor Arabs (Some of whom were so stupid they were killed by relief drops by standing under them trying to catch them). The 1990's it eased off a little, but it still felt like every time we turned around it was something new. The 1994 WTC bombing for example. The USS Cole.
The right was angry that Clinton just lobbed a few Tomahawks and called it a day.
Then 11 Sept 01 happened. Bush standing up there and talking about the religion of peace was probably the most anger inducing thing I'd ever seen.
Those goat fucking Bronze Age retards had been fucking shit up for everyone for 30 years and a US president was talking about "Not All Goat Fuckers" and "Camel Jockey Lives Matter" while the rubble was still smoking.
THen watching our fighting forces get hobbled in the GWOT and seeing it turn into Forever War to enrich politicians, including the RINOs and Republicans, made a lot on the right even angrier. Add in importing huge amounts WHILE WE'RE AT WAR WITH THEM just for shits and giggles. Not the guys who helped us in the war zone, but random sand rats and camel jockeys.
So, yeah, the Right hasn't liked Arabs for decades, we just have to be quiet about it or people start howling about Islamophobia.
Fuck 'em, I hope they choke on their own blood.
