Although mentioned more than enough I'm sure, but:
[CURRENT YEAR] and ripped jeans are still gay and shit, just like they were in the 90's.
Why do you want to look like a fucking hobo?

Are there any kiwis here that find a particular style grating or annoying?

I was just having a conversation the other day about how skintight skinny jeans with rips in them do not look good on overweight women. The fat bulges out of the holes like a split sausage. It's not a good look.
I'd rather see creatively patched jeans than "artfully" ripped jeans, personally.

The pre-ripped jeans thing is funny to me. Why buy that when it's much more satisfying to buy jeans and create your own rips. (Including rubbing the crap out of them with rocks and sand)

My friend fell down a hill the other day because they were scootering too fast. Now they have a new pair of 'distressed' jeans. Authentic!

I don't get the point of intentionally ripped jeans, whether that be you buying them made like that or you rubbing rocks on them. Why would you want to ruin a perfectly good pair of pants?

Speaking of jeans, anyone remember JNCO pants?

Nothing screams "It's not a phase, Mom!" stronger than these pants.

Oh boy do I remember these pants. You would see groups of greasy teenagers at the mall wearing these pants with their wallet chains and their eyebrow piercings. They were so long and unwieldy that they'd get all dirty and frayed at the bottom. It was an incredibly stupid, gross look, especially on an already awkward, gangly teenager.

Even Z. Cavaricci pants were better than those awful things. (And those were pretty horrendous as well.)

JNCO must have a made a deal with the devil in 1999 because somehow they are still in business. They must sell a lot of their pants to juggalos and furries (the only two groups I can think of who would wear these in 2017).

I think you are correct. Juggalos, furries, and the aging gutter punks who can't let go of the fashion they wore as teenagers. They were also big among ravers at one point.

I saw someone doing a genderbent cosplay of a female character who wears a long skirt, and the guy was wearing Tripp pants. It worked. Otherwise it does not work.

The newest, stupid jeans fad is 'step hems'. Basically mullet jeans.

WHY.

Heh. I just bought a pair of those in white. (No distressing at the thigh though). *shrug*. It's a one year trend but they show off your shoes, and I think it's been a good couple years for shoe fashion.

And they are very flattering and comfortable, I get lots of compliments.
