and now they attack entire organizations and making them crazy.

Most recent, and what spurned this thread, is CNN losing their shit over a wrestling meme, then threatening to dox a rando if he didn't apologize

Their whole staff is going insane on air, look at Sally Kohn losing her shit over a meme

Just... no shitposting here, I'm going to say the President's own tweets are insane. Paint CNN whatever color you want, I genuinely don't care, but my entire focus is on POTUS and that he retweeted shit like that on his personal account and government account. That's just fucking insane.

i don't personally give a shit about the president's tweets but i agree that it is the only newsworthy part of this whole episode. cnn should probably still be screeching about violence against journalists and trump's "unpresidential" behavior and left the gif as "originating from an online forum" or something vague. though of course since one idiot wouldn't have been enough to generate this situation, it was mike tard himself who's to blame for bringing the attention to his reddit handle.

But it's not 1829. The man was a genocidal maniac.

Calm down, Oliver Stone.

The guy ran on a platform of being different. Apparently that's what his supporters wanted, and what he is doing. People knew he liked to talk shit, and talk shit he is doing.

Not like he was the first president to take a dump from on high on journalists... look at what Harry Truman said about Paul Hume, a guy who gave his daughter's act a poor review.

Mr. Hume:

I've just read your lousy review of Margaret's concert. I've come to the conclusion that you are an "eight ulcer man on four ulcer pay."

It seems to me that you are a frustrated old man who wishes he could have been successful. When you write such poppy-cock as was in the back section of the paper you work for it shows conclusively that you're off the beam and at least four of your ulcers are at work.

Some day I hope to meet you. When that happens you'll need a new nose, a lot of beefsteak for black eyes, and perhaps a supporter below!

Pegler, a gutter snipe, is a gentleman alongside you. I hope you'll accept that statement as a worse insult than a reflection on your ancestry.

H.S.T.

Trump has a way to go to reach "actual, real threats" on the media like Truman did.

Now they have a President who is completely useless at that, shitposts Tweets all day instead, sends out clowns who tell three different contradictory stories before breakfast, and they're so unused to doing anything resembling an actual job that they think hunting down someone because the President retweeted their shitpost, then extorting them into a sad North Korean type apology and a promise never to use their First Amendment rights again, under threat of doxing, is somehow journalism.

Hypothetically, if someone is to be charged with extortion/blackmail/coercion or whatever for this, who will it be? Obviously CNN is not a single person and I imagine the crime would involve jail time, so who will prosecution choose here?

lol those are only the most famous duels, @Cthulhu, he was in over a hundred of them.

@CWCissey yes lol and the odds that both of the assassins guns malfunctioning was like one in sepacillion.

@flossman Andrew Jackson was one of the greatest presidents in American history, Trump might be the only one to match him in controversy, but Trump will never accomplish anything as based as killing the bank.

You know I'm all for genocide

It's pretty tame when you consider how many men President Jackson killed in duels.

Honestly a leader acting like a sterile approval seeking robot is more insane to me. A president who admits which people he'd like to fight irl seems a lot less slimy and questionable.

Also am I remembering history class wrong, or didn't Andrew Jackson flat out fire his entire cabinet because their wives were mean to his wife?

Swoon

He also began the wholesale slaughter of the native americans. He's cool in my book.

This, really. CNN are a bunch of hacks and Trump regularly calls them on it. Yeah he's kind of tasteless with it but so are the faggots who treat A-Logging him like some kind of moral imperative. You don't get to condone beating people with bike locks for disagreeing with you and then tut-tut at someone for not being "proper".

The idea of some false perfect moral standard in office is sort of odd, given Clinton's proclivities (which were well known and often hand waved away).

Look at LBJ (dude could sling an insult and had no problem calling a niggo a nigger), look at Nixon (who partly built a foreign policy on pretending to be unhinged), JFK who was a philandering drug addict, and so on. The only recent President who was a nice guy 24/7 was Bush Jr, and everyone pretended he was a total idiot for eight years as a result of it.

Trump is silly, Trump is brash, Trump is over the top, but has he actually done anything awful? Moreso awful than any other president? The only difference is instead of talking mad shit behind the oval office doors he tweets it.

I think this is what you're thinking of, which was over one of his cabinet members marrying a widow too soon after her husband's death. The couple was ostracized by other cabinet wives for not waiting longer: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petticoat_affair

He did get in a duel which I believe ended w the other guy dying over him insulting his wife, Rachel.

A decade ago he joked about groping a woman and that makes him a dangerous sexual predator.

Even though liberal darling Slippery Willy was an actual sexual predator whose harassment of women while in office is well-documented.
