Only 30 of them will be playable it seems, however

None

Arc System Works has certainly built up a massive roster of characters in their 30 years of publishing and developing games, and now we get to see many of them together on the same screen.

Code Shifter is a new game in development over at ArcSys, and though it appears to be an action platformer and not a fighting game, the soon to release title does feature 100 characters from series like Guilty Gear, BlazBlue and River City.

In it, players will take control of game developers called Awesome Rainbow Corp. who are working up to the deadline of their next title until they run into disastrous bugs.

An original avatar named Sera infiltrates the world to try and set things straight with the ability to take on sprite appearances and abilities of characters like Sol Badguy, Elphelt, Ragna, Faust, Jubei and Hazama among many others to defeat stages.

There are 30 playable characters in total plus 70 assists to call in as the trailer shows off I-No's as an example.

The main game can seemingly be played with up to two players while an additional mode will support up to four to unlock more fighters.

Code Shifter is currently scheduled to release on January 30, 2020 in Japan on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. A western release date has not been set yet, but it will apparently be coming in the near future overseas.

Personal thoughts:

So... That Nu Disneyesque art style, I'm curious as to know what the context is behind that. Is it truly the rise of the Anti Gamergate Baizuos to establish Japan as Los Angeles Francisco 2.0 as a new territory of Alphabet Clown World? Is it a rebellious statement to say that life is as sterile and bland as Disney Inc.and its properties and monopoly encroaches on all aspects of life as we know it? Or is it a very effective way to play as the more well known video game world characters in a form of reverse psychology?

I'm going to go with occums razor on this and say this was the art style that was best suited for combing 100 different characters from multiple franchises. That and it's cheaper to produce.

Please add O.P is a fag to the poll please.

Edit: Thanks

Please leave ArcSys alone; I don't want to have to worry about a bunch of schizoids off their meds having seizures and screaming about the Gamergate World Order any time I go to play Guilty Gear. It's punishment enough that I paid full price for Cross Tag Battle - just please stop drooling on me and let me go.

I'm getting flashbacks to when I was in way too deep with the Erin from E-Surance fandom.

Arc makes all kinds of weird one off shit that no one in the west ever notices outside of their fighting games in a variety of styles.

This is the stupidist fucking thing I've read today, and this is after I read that "better" is a hate word in a different thread.
