I tried it. The full sugar type just tasted like it had half the vanilla flavor that Vanilla Coke has. Definitely not a wildly different flavor compared to the shit Mt. Dew gets up to.

They brought back that weird Coffee Coke? Only time I ever had that was at comicon. They were giving it out free.

Got my hands on a bottle of starlight. It was $2 for 20 ounces.

The users mentioning the vanilla flavor are spot on, it's a weird fading sensation. When it hits your tongue, it seems like it's going to be a strong vanilla, but that fades quickly to the cotton candy flavor people are describing, and then it fades to a cooling sensation, like xylitol.

The bottle does not list xylitol as an ingredient. About the weirdest ingredient is that they use vegetable juice to get the color. I've read some people say it looks like cheer wine, I'd say it's a bit darker, and that cheer wine is shit.

I mixed it with some tequila, I was worried it would taste horrible but the tequila fully overwhelms it. About the only thing left is the cooling sensation.

For a stunt drink, I think it works. Pricewise I think it should be a dollar.

So I got some out of curiosity when I saw it at the store, after seeing this thread and a post on another forum.

It's a deep red color, and tastes like cherry-flavored soda with some... cinnamon?

(it's not bad but regular cherry flavored soda of any brand may taste better)

This is a very specific comparison, but have any of you had those "cotton candy grapes" before? You sometimes see them in gourmet markets. Starlight reminds me of that flavor, right down to the aftertaste. Like something that's trying to be cotton candy and failing, but still loosing enough of it's original flavor that it's unrecognizable.

I’ve been having these on and off for a while now and flavor definitely takes some getting used to. To me it tastes like raspberry Coke (you can get it from those Freestyle machines they have in movie theaters and some fast foot joints) with a cooling feel that doesn’t linger for too long.

That said, it’s becoming a pain in the ass to find now, my local grocers used to have the bottles and 10-mini can packs of both the regular and zero-sugar variants but they all disappeared overnight.

Tried it recently. Not the biggest fan simply because of the fucking aftertaste. But the color and initial taste is quite nice.
I'd rather have Vanilla coke or crystal bepis

So, I came across a bottle of it this two days ago and tried it. At first I didn't mind it and thought i'd probably try it again and might be willing to pick up a case at some point if its available that way. Unfortunately it got a bit strange after a little while. Has anyone noticed a really odd aftertaste that seems to take like half an hour or so after you stop drinking it to be noticeable? To me it seems like a kind of weird slightly metallic menthol taste you'd get from eating some really shit tier dollar store candy or breath mint, and for me anyway it just kind of stayed around no matter what I did, ate or drank. I mean since I drank it i've eaten multiple times, drank water, regular coke, root beer and cranberry juice, used scope several times and brushed my teeth and tongue multiple times and took about a day and a half to go away completely no matter what I did. Its like it absorbed into my tongue or something and became noticeable whenever I drank something especially. Has anyone else had anything like this happen?

Had some yesterday, >$2.00 a bottle but it seemed like fun to just try it.
I don't really drink pop and haven't had a coke in over a year, this thing tasted like a regular fucking coke to me. My buddy said it tasted like tin, it was very unimpressive.

i only found this in a 12 pack coke mini cans and still have yet to find a bottled version of this

update: i found a bottle at walmart. its like they say with the vanilla taste initially then some sort of cotton candy flavor as it goes down
then some sort of fruity taste like coconut or something?

Coke: Red 40 Yellow 5 edition, now with added sugar. Give me one solid piece of evidence that soft drink companies aren't hoarding money in marketing to avoid paying anyone decently at the ground level, and I will raise you one Pepsi Relativity

Guess I must have some fucked taste buds because I tried a bottle recently and it tasted more like ginger than vanilla or cotton candy to me.

It was okay, although it's not something I'd actively go out of my way to get.

Same, starlight doesn't exactly evoke any flavor and Coke isn't like mountain dew where they just make up abstract names. I tried it and it was alright, reminiscent of cherry.

I wish they brought back orange coke zero

Around the start of covid, they stopped stocking it. At the time I attributed it to supply line issues but it's been 2 years and it's still unavailable. :(
Was Orange Vanilla completely discontinued?

According to my extensive research (checking it’s Wikipedia entry) it’s no longer available in the UK except in some freestyle Coke machines. It’s also still available in Latvia and Russia

As for its availability in burgerland, I haven’t seen it for quite some time either

In my opinion it tastes kind of like a soggy teddy graham, at least the zero flavor. Have not bothered with the regular one, cool concept but probably bought only because of hype marketing.
