God, the worst part was that I saw this whole thing on [Haha funny porn website] before checking to see if they had a thread here. I truly never want to wish death upon a person, but I do hope whomever this was has found peace in this. I've seen gore, I've studied to be a first responder, I've met cutters, but nothing, NOTHING mentally preps you for something like this, when someone willingly harms themselves to such an intense degree.

The human body is amazingly resilient to damage and blood loss, and amazingly fragile under the right conditions. I can imagine this person likely took time between larger wounds by inflicting smaller cuts to satiate themselves, like an addict. Also makes me think of that franken fran comic of those people who kept trying to kill each other over the rush of adrenaline they got from their injuries.

not fake, there's another girl like her, EmoCutterGirl who went past the bone and lived to tell the tale. They're only slices which as long as it isn't a major artery you can usually recover from. the chunks of flesh are harder to heal from but as she once posted those took 6+ months to fully close.

I almost feel odd because the pictures do nothing to me freak-out wise.

that makes sense, I can't imagine the act of doing it, but I think I can understand the desire to disfigure yourself. it's common in a lot of women who are victims of abuse... or just have some serious mental issues

Someone found that news article a few pages back, I'm pretty at least that this is Claire Shortland, considering multiple people said that she is still alive and gotten skin grafts which would explain the absence of her pulled pork appendages. Anyway, article said while it was going on she was getting hospitalized 3/4 times a week. It's Europe, didn't have to concern herself with medical bills and shit. I'm just amazed they kept letting her go home and do it again.

Claire Shortland is from the UK but CIMH is/was German. Don’t see any evidence that Shortland was ever in Germany.

Shortland’s skin also doesn’t look damaged enough to be Coldness. Coldness’s arms had massive scars that went all the way up to her shoulders; there’s no way skin grafts could repair that much.

The cuts don’t bother me at all. I guess my days of watching the old surgery channel (anybody remember that? ) desensitized Me.

I find the healed scars much worse. All that stiff skin that looks wrinkled like a 90 year old but with no softness is awful. I can’t imagine the pain of cutting so deep, but living with those stiff scars and muscles that don’t heal right always would be worse. Even removing it and grafting new skin isn’t a perfect solution.

Did she think she was an artist as she mutilated herself? Did she have medical training so she knew where to cut? Why wasn’t it agony? She cut to the bone then grabbed her camera.

And why, if it’s true she was continually going to the doctor for this did nobody 5150 her. Maybe she wasn’t in US but every country has some method of trying to prevent this type of thing, no? Maybe she’s one of those rare people who can’t feel pain. Well. I don’t we’ll ever know.

I whole heartedly agree. Seeing the images of her wounds isn't that bad, what's most unsettling to me is the picture with her boyfriend. The heavy contrast of her largely untouched skin looking so soft and young with what you can see of her arm is just incredibly jarring. Until you see the massacred parts of her next to what little is left of healthy skin, you don't really realize just HOW fucked up it is. It just takes it to an entirely new level, even though one wouldn't think that's possible.

Hey there wonderful users of the farms. I formally apologize for resurrecting this thread, but I have shit to say.
First, I've been following CIMH's story for years, I remember seeing her images back in the day on tumblr. There wasn't a day that would go by that I wasn't greeted by an image of her in one way or another, and over the years I became quite invested. Kind of like some D list celebrity that you care about, I ended up caring about her and her story.
While I don't know too much more than what we can readily find in the forum, I did want to possibly lend some insight in the name debate. Both CIMH and ECG get mixed up frequently as they are both German. From this collection of ECG images: https://imgur.com/a/9lSY3 (trigger warning for the faint of heart naturally) it can be seen in the 8th image that it is signed off as Joan. While this image holds no body parts to give away that it is indeed ECG without seeing it from her original posts, we can see that it is on the same tile that is featured in many of her confirmed images.
I am of the belief that ECG goes by the name of Joan, and CIMH possibly by Erika if not any other name as people can easily choose a name to LARP with.
The below link has someone claiming that her name is/was Suzanne though, so I may as well be transparent and admit I can totally be wrong.
