This is back in the latter half of the 2000s. I had an elective class, Ergonomics (Our uni called it Human Factor Engineering). I only took it because it was the only one I could fit into my schedule and I really didn't want to stay an extra semester for a single course. The thing is, it was with one insufferable professor, I honestly didn't care at this point, difficult professors tended to keep me more focused, because I usually take it as a challenge.
Anyways, this professor out of nowhere starts boasting about how he has over 3 decades of tenure at the university, and how after each decade passed, the Uni gave him a nice watch, with me barely holding it together because it's just so fucking pretentious, and such a strange tangent too. and he goes on to talk about how "..and as my tenure increases, the quality of the watches increases" (I swear those were his words). At which point I burst out laughing in the middle of class.
He glares at me and says: "I guess neural has something funny to tell us, so we will stop to listen to what he says" (I totally hate when teachers pull that one, it happened to me ever since grade school).
I open my mouth and say "um..", and before I finish thinking of an excuse, the class bell rings and I immediately get up and get out of there.
I legit don't know how I got a 'B' in that course with the grudge he probably held over this and other things. Thank god I was out of there in time, dude runs a couple of committees in our department and could've made my life hell in many ways.
