Even if she got the correct set up for said goldfish, and not just crammed it in a bowl, it would die within a week. She is ignorant has hell though so I would give it 24 hours at best. She would probably put it in unconditioned tap water, and the chlorine would kill the fish in an hour or less.

My bet says her lazy ass would put it in one of her waddur jugs and drink it later by accident. Wouldn't even realize.
