Come up with a reboot you think you could do better than HollyWood can.

Mystery Machine: A group of teenagers in the early 1970s travel across the country and take on various serial killers, often with ridiculous gimmicks, think Dahmer, Gacy, Manson, Bundy etc but in a heightened, more cartoon like reality, but still one closer to real life than the original Scooby Doo cartoon.

Throw in some sex scenes between the characters with nudity (they're "teenagers", but 18 or 19 and obviously actually played by 20 something actors), maybe one plotline could be Velma getting roped into the porn industry and the gang has to save her before she becomes a victim of a snuff film.

Velma could be gay, Daphne could be bi, Fred could be a swinger willing to share Daphne with Velma and Shaggy likes to watch and jerk off while Velma and Daphne go at it, maybe Scooby's not a part of it, it's just the human characters.

Boom, there's a more interesting take on an "adult Scooby Doo" than the Mindy Kaling Velma cartoon.

But yeah I've always thought it strange that for often as Scooby Doo and the era it depicts is parodied, nobody thought to take the obvious route of the late 60's/early 70's "burnout society" and the bizarre shit that came along with that.

Hollywood Starlet Ginger Grant books a cruise on the SS Minnow to get away from the pressures of being a up and coming starlet, including a stalker. Her stalker William "Gilligan" Whitehead finds out and infiltrates the crew. His plan is to use the cover of a tropical storm to dispose of the crew and run the Minnow aground on a deserted Island so he can have Ginger all to himself.

All does not go to plan. Due to the ingenuity of Professor Roy Hinkley the crew, albeit stranded survives. Gilligan must now not only dispose of the survivors but foil the Professor's schemes to get off the island to realize his dream of having Ginger Grant all to himself, on Gilligan's Island.
