Sure you can consider some inspiration concepts, but it's takes way more from WW2 movies and Westerns than Dune. I like the doco and like to place the movie in a "what if" situation, that said anybody who thinks it was feasible or would turn out good is off their rocker and needs all the meds.

Bingo. He's an excellent idea man and can occasionally come up with visually striking scenes but he's far from being the only reason the OT was as good as it was. I maintain that the political stuff could have been good if Lucas had a clue what makes political drama interesting, which he clearly doesn't. And Darth Jar Jar, if true, would have been great, but as it stands what we got was an annoying character that served no purpose.

The sad part is that they do: I tuned into the bagging and boarding stream with Az and Nerdrotic and people were waiting for them to talk about Babylon 5 to geek out. Shit was comfy, but that wont bring in the $100 superchats about how evil hollywood or youtube is (even though 30% of every superchat goes to youtube directly). These guys could start up a RLM re:View like show about old sci-fi shows and it would make bank if they'd stream it.

At the end of the day EVS is completely right that people need to make their own shit, especially if they're THIS discontent, too bad it's easier to fire up a cope stream and cry for 5 hours.

I do believe JSG and Critical Drinker do it the best, just have a scripted video or two drop each week instead of the daily grind. But this takes talent and brains, so yeah, it may not work for them.
The Mat Jarbo method of youtubing is more like their thing.

It's a little easier to make your own comic than to make your own scifi fantasy movie or TV show. Maybe if TFM had a 26 year veteran scifi director for credibility they could get their fanbase to crowd fund enough cash for them to make something truly low budget and lousy.

When they make comics (Stealing Solo) or covers (Vampirella) it's just a grift.

All they have really is the outrage. Let's not pretend they're capable of 'making their own shit'.

EDIT: Judging from the "creative" stuff I've seen from the TFM crew so far I'd love to see them attempt something really ambitious.

It would be hysterically funny to watch.

Critical Drinker has clever analysis and is very funny in his delivery. He steers clear of the REEEEEEEEing and looks to put out quality scripted content with editing. Does anyone in TFM even come close?

If he wanted to do comics videos he'd take Meyer's lunch money.

The designs are fantastic, but my take home message was that it was a good thing those visuals were broken up and sent to other films, or that Jodorowsky never got anywhere near the rear end of a camera for this. The dude doesn't just have a screw loose, he's got a whole Home Depot rattling about up there. Reading The Incal and Metabarons confirms my thoughts: other people make nice pictures for him, but the stories and characters are all over the place, shooting off in whatever direction his latest drug-fuelled whim dictates.

TL;DR: Jodorowsky was George Lucas before George Lucas.

I'll sit on the fence and say a bit of both. I did enjoy the "fifteen minutes of actual content and then hours of the same five jokes" parts.

I'm having a hard time finding live streams from comics people worth listening to these days. If they aren't sperging or fighting over something there's no point. I'm not interested in listening to a bunch of poorly informed middling IQ takes on any subject. They're not dumb enough to be funny and they're not smart enough to have an original take or thought provoking analysis. Why would I tune in to hear what some guy drawing cats to keep his harpy wife happy has to say.

Nasser is sperg enough to say some truly laughable shit but he rarely gets excited enough to open his mouth and really embarrass himself anymore and his own streams are unlistenable because he thinks reading forums back to people is "content".

I don't care if these guys are pissed off about the same things I am unless they have more info than me on the subject, they're funny enough to make me laugh about it or they have something to say I couldn't have thought of myself.

The drama shit is the only entertaining shit and it's too rare to tune in to regularly when you can catch it on timestamped videos here a little later and skip the boring shit going straight to the sperging.

It blows me away that some people tune in to laugh with these people instead of at them.

Tough love, but also, he probably feels vindicated. "You livestream, and these SJWs are going to make your life unnecessarily hard! If you carefully edit your videos, they'll never catch you out on anything."

This isn't something I'm looking for. I can't spend my life hiding from these bums. That's letting them win. I'm here to sell Frog comics and be entertaining.

I imagine there's probably some lingering disdain for livestreams because of Zack's experience with the dark roast as well. What was probably the worst SJW attack he received was due to his comments during a livestream being weaponized, so I'm sure he sees this shit as inevitable and it's part of why he hates streams. Now, you've been through this sort of thing repeatedly, but you know Zack. He's not in it for the daily clashes with psychos on Twitter. He had his time taking on people like Quesada who he saw as tyrants destroying the hobbies he loves. But he's just tired of this shit and he wants to sit at home eating fish sticks and sending weird comic pitches to Chuck Dixon.

Having caught up on this drama, the person who I am annoyed with the most is you, Frog.

Because you know from experience how these people operate. You know that there is no line they will not cross; no stream of stagnant piss and razor blades that they will not field barefooted in their attempts to hurt you and your family. I realize that I'll always have lunatics following me around with things I've said, quoted without context, trying to destroy me. Over the course of my life, this will happen many more times.

I don't see why Ethan would be too panicked about any of this. He has fuck you money by now and his chances of getting kicked from youtube are honestly low and he can just migrate to another platform if worst comes to worst. I see he's already set up a backup channel on odysee.
