I was just about to address this. The more I think about it, the more annoyed I become.

ComicsGate was supposed to give creators the freedom to release work they're passionate about and not be hemmed up by purple-haired gatekeepers. Both established pros and bright-eyed hopefuls could take the stage and put out their best. Now, as much grief as I give people like the Diaz brothers for being legitimately talentless, at least they're creating original work that they clearly care about. And in comes Adam fucking Post, seeing an opportunity to make some cash and scrapes the bottom of the fucking barrel by finding low-quality webcomics from eight years ago, packages them up in margins that could serve as a canvas for Michelangelo and sells them for $25 a pop. Truly, his profit margins must be as big as those on the page with the amount of effort that went into these books. Sure, grifters are inevitable. But this cunt is still around and still popping into every other EVS stream, boring the audience and the panel to tears. Fuck this guy and his literal schemes and scams. Futhermore... NOWHERE on the camapaign pages for CotD or Mermaids is it detailed that these were originally webcomics published in 2013. What an absolute, shady scumbag.

I do not believe I've used this word since joining this site and it's not something I am inclined to accuse someone of being, but Adam Post is a fucking GRIFTER. This is outrageous. Yes, I'm mad at the internet and mad at the amount of money I dropped on those two piece of shit zombie books. And the fact that the cover says ADAM POST'S College of the Dead... the fucking audacity, man. Imagine if EVS slapped his name in front of Starblades. Even if the CotD books were good, where would the praise go? As I already addressed, Adam doesn't even follow the writers. He doesn't talk about them. He doesn't platform the artists. Why? Oh because he had no involvement in the books' creation? This isn't his fucking team. This isn't his project. He doesn't care about these properties. He is trying to be Ray Kroc but without the charisma, business savvy, or appealing product.

Know what would be a fun experiment? Hey @FROG, next time Adam is on the show, you should ask him the names of some of the characters from College of the Dead. Since he had absolutely no creative input and they're not memorable in the slightest, I wonder what would happen. I wonder if he even read them. Is the auction tonight or tomorrow? Get him on. Would be a good time. Maybe he can even sell an NFT to an original Mermaids panel "page."

How do we know it was stolen?

I wouldn't be surprised if his pitch to the original creators was "I'll take your existing IP and sell it to the rubes on Frog's platform and in return I put my name above yours on the cover and take X% of the proceeds."

The IGG listing mentions new pages coming, etc, indicating it's not all old content (unless he's a 100% fraud).

Maybe you should learn to Google so you can make sure the books you promote aren't horrible web comics from non-CG creators made in 2013.

CG didn't sort this, Dongs did on KiwiFarms. CG knuckle draggers still wouldn't know if not for this forum and guys like Dongs.

If you go back and read what you wrote here you can see why Ethan will take Post back if the heat dies down.

I remember catching a livestream when he first came in hocking College of the Dead as his own original idea that he made Stan Lee style before sheparding the creatives through the production process because of his immense knowledge gained making porno (didn't mention they were porn) comics no one ever heard of.

Don't underestimate how far that platform can take a total suck up. Just ask Cecil. Although you should at least be marginally entertaining or have a decent enough product to keep a spot there.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how he managed to get his foot in that door to begin with. I find it a little hard to believe that he was making what the CG audience would consider "good" videos about CG considering his lack of an engaging personality and the basement level view count most of his YT content gets. To be fair, I shouldn't discount the idea that "good" could also mean "unabashedly fellating Ethan" but were they good enough to maintain a presence on CAPS through three campaigns over several years? Nah. Two of those campaigns didn't even hit $13k, so I'm not sure anyone ever thought Post was "good" at anything having to do with making or promoting comics.

You're absolutely right about Post always being boring. It's not like he started out on fire and just became dull the last few times he was on. Being affable is a fine trait but it doesn't merit having those bad projects continually pushed on that big a stage.

This seems more likely. And the creators were probably like "Oh you want to pay me for that webcomic I shit out eight years ago and forgot about? Sounds good, man. Do whatever you want."

I'm still curious about the process behind all of this, though. And the sheer fucking nerve of the guy to pull this shit on the CG audience is astounding to me. This is a legitimate insult to CG as a whole and I hope more people catch onto this. But still, not having to see him on CAPS anymore is at least a small consolation for everyone.

Adam Post was ushered in along with Matt Wenger after the "Fall of Rome" when Comicsgate entered a long famine of both promotional and professional talent (Malin and Cecil being the last two "names" left) and a shaken Frog was in the market for some especially loyal (read: dependent) people. CG 2021 has its own new and disturbing crises it's facing but the present situation of a surge of entrepreneurs not getting a leg up or being ignored in favor of less worthy recipients is infinitely better than a year and a half ago when people capable of functional independence and building a following without Frog's platform or WC approval were actively screened, suppressed and driven off.

Wenger, as we all know, imploded spectacularly when he thought Frog would use his platform to promote anything he made and had no business plan when he learned that this was not the case while Frog, eventually, learned the downside of obligation in his newfound role of Comicsgate philanthropist. Post however has a bit more self awareness than Wenger.


This is why I always have a good laugh when Frog says dumb shit like this:

I started out with my fellow pros, and then got talked into helping worthless indie shitheads like Tim Lim and the RAGS crew, and god only knows who else. I'm back to helping my fellow professionals, and the occasional small press creator who shows amazing talent and initiative.

I for one find it quite funny that the "worthless indie shithead" Tim Lim has been able to surpass the rotating gong show of toadies described as "fellow professionals" Frog lifts up like "Cecil", Adam Post and Patrick Thomas Parnell by way of regular, affordable and on-time production of quality comic books. Professionalism in other words.

This isn't to say there are no professionals in Comicsgate - if that's your thing, Art Thibert has assembled more bald guys in glasses that make comics than you could shake a stick at. In truth though, if the Comicsgate audience was truly interested in watching comic book professionals there's no shortage of content made by people employed in the mainstream these days.

If this seems overly harsh, I'll just point out that for all these failings the only reason that Newman's and Brother Maynard can accuse Frog of operating a monopoly on backer support within Comicsgate is because the many others with equal or larger platforms (YF, TUG, Zack, Doug TenNapel, HeelsVsBabyface), that are beholden in no such way, have offered so little in comparison.
