He "supported" his friend Doug Ernst, then needed a "favor" from him and didn't get it. "Supported" in this context means Hut executing gay ops for Doug. I feel a little pity for Hut because he strikes me as a guy without many friends and it's quite obvious he thought Doug Ernst was really his pal and that he was in a cool kid's circle with some successful indie comics guys and they had fun sticking it to their common enemies in CG.

From that perspective I completely understand why Hut would think Ernst could/should do him a solid in exchange for the years of being a mouthpiece/proxy for Ernst's ridiculous hard-on about EVS and Zack. If that's what was happening, a little promotion isn't too much to ask IMO. It likely wouldn't have gotten Hut's book to the $10,000 goal he claims Ernst talked him into but it certainly wouldn't have hurt. If Hut's allegations are true, I think he had every right to expect one hand to wash the other if needed.

It could have hurt Ernst in the sense that:

1. He would have had to promote a REALLY shitty looking book, and looked really insincere doing so.
2. It would have added fuel to the (then already extent) speculation that IC is willing to cozy up with anyone who's willing to bash FROG.

But sure.... a tweet or two could have been Hut's 30 sheckles, I suppose. Maybe kept him from sperging out. It might have been the better option over this shitshow that's brewing.

Bigger mistake was allegedly trying to talk Hut into setting the goal at $10,000 and THEN not promoting the book. That seems like Ernst was just asking for Hut to betray him.

Agreed. I was on the "show me evidence Lim is involved" train until I saw that video. That's a huge red flag for me. Now I'm just sitting here going: "fuck was Lim involved?"

There's no reason to do damage control if you're not involved. Just let it play out. If people come to you and you had nothing to do with it -- deny involvement.

I've never understood the desire to defend one's friends when they're fucking up. I always chastise my friends when they do something that triggers my gay shit o meter.

Why do I find this intriguing? This isn't a zero sum game. You can think both are stupid.

Brooks is Marvel though, and a consummate SJW. So while there might be some cross-pollination of criticism (i.e. fulfillment, or lateness thereof), Brooks also brings the whole "Diversity is our strength, buy black pansexual Spiderman NOW biggot!" crap to the table. Indeed, I question whether you can work at Marvel these days and NOT toe the SJW line.

The cynical side of me thinks D&V will platform anybody who wants to talk shit about FROG and CG, since the earlier stratagem didn't really seem to get them very far in the end, but I guess we'll have to see how this plays out. Were it me I would be concerned that, depending on how Brooks acts, this could alienate an already miniscule audience.

Irony of ironies is that, back in May of last year, @Mister Dongs pointed out that Brooks was seemingly gloating over the fact that PP sued Ethan. At the time of this writing, Ethan has been dismissed from the federal case, while Dean and Vikki are both still defendants in the same case. I'm gonna take a wild ass guess here that that whole thing didn't work out quite the way Brooks was hoping. Very awkward.

Hut did say more were coming, and he's promising a 2nd video on the way, which he says shows Tim Lim's involvement in the gayops.

Speaking of Tim Lim and gay, he attempted a very half hearted attempt at damage control without mentioning the Hut by name (just refers to him as "this person") or the Doug Ernst emails. The Hut was just mad that Lim didn't consider his book worthy of a promotion, according to the Kamen America creator. Stream below:

So wait now we have quite a collection of motives. First, the "professional courtesy" tweet indicated he was primarily upset about Ernst's refusal to promote. Then we have the weird Ernst DM about paying for his dad's funeral when he dies... but then Hutt says Ernst actually helped pay for his mother's funeral... which might indicate that rather than some retarded threat, this was a mere continuation of the arrangement they already had, though worded oddly. It's similar to "don't call me unless your mother dies", which is something a close friend might say to another as they are severing ties. except he's saying the opposite here with "call me." The "when" part might have been unintentionally heartless, but the general meaning I think is meant to convey that he had his back financially. Could it be that the last few acorns rolling around in Hutt's bicycle helmet Cerebro misinterpreted that communication?

Now it's time to get a little harsh. If Ernst paid any significant amount for a funeral in New York City, that would easily rival any crowdfunder Hutt could come up with. That's a massive gift even for a close friend! Ernst using this as a way of ensuring Hutt's continued service would be extremely scummy especially if he had no intention of being an actual friend. But for Hutt the world's smallest violin just got a little smaller when you consider that he has essentially confessed to using Ernst the whole time to make his middle school dream come true and despite the fact Ernst has likely thrown a down a couple thousand for a funeral (which is a much bigger deal than any stupid comic book fundraiser), Hutt is blaming everyone else except himself for his own actions.

There is simply no way he can offload 3 years worth of Youtube videos on Ernst. It's either mind of a total vegetable or morals of stunted man child or a bit of both. The minute he didn't get everything he wanted the way he wanted it, he ratted out. Nobody owes him shit and he better not even try to be a regular in Scivergate. Man up! If he wants anyone to buy his sob story, he's admitting that he's never been able to think for himself. Who wants to put money behind that?

As for Ernst, he can start his new project entitled Shillfinder. I know you read the forums Ernst, give us a comprehensive response not a collection of customer feedback! No more gayops, let the spice flow from the source!

We won't know how far down that rabbit hole they're prepared to go until after tonight, but I think it's a distinct possibility. I'm withholding judgment for the moment.

I've noticed that Vikki has increasingly been cribbing from the SJW lexicon in her tweets since FROG was dismissed from the PP case. To the best of my recollection, she's thus far accused Yellowflash of "misogyny," TUG of "classism" (in regard to him pointing out she's flat broke and jobless), and all but insisted the ADL open an investigation into @TheCosmicWarrior with respect to his retarded edgelord holocaust quip (which he should be absolutely be called a dumbass for, but not cancelled).

No joke, she posted this exact thing three times in under 24 hours, and she's still trying to make hay over it as late as yesterday.

Together with the Ernst shit, there's a cautionary tale in here about being irrationally full of hate. Against FROG, or otherwise. Mock people here all you want, but then go outside and touch grass. Don't make it your life. For Vikki, I really do think bitching about CG represents the entirely of her life now. So does her sister, @Pokerwhore72 , from my discussions with her.

Also, somebody pointed out a similarity between Tess Fowler and Vikkiverse. She's got the look down.

You absolutely beat me to it. I just got home from work, where I had listened to the livestream, and came directly here to say how badly that post aged ;)

In hindsight, it should have been obvious that DE was behind CBH. Hut didn't demonstrate the ability to make the videos he made. I can accept that he doesn't present his ideas well speaking, but since I don't speak my ideas very well, I chalked it up as something similar (though I thought he had to be stupid to keep making videos when he comes off as badly as he does... which is why I don't create videos).

True that. But I could also picture a scenario where Ernst started feeding CBHut what to say in videos in exchange for future help publishing any project from Hut. Of freaking course Ernst never anticipated the craptastic levels of Hut´s embarassing amateurism and incompetence, especially that he was even going to draw the thing himself. This could have pushed Ernst to balk on any hypothetical deal, which would be understandable but a deal's a deal and if Hut pulled through on his end, he would be entitled to his reward.
