This Cyberfrog series is taking him so long that the concept was started at the height of Walking Dead zombie mania. Now that comic and TV series are over. Is post apocalypse even escapism after covid and threats of WW3 ? Well I guess The Last of Us is a hit despite that. Probably a controversial take, but even with the extreme delays (looking forward to the Collected Hardcover Edition in 2030, it's going to be lit), I still think that the story is Cyberfrog's biggest problem right now. It's hard to get people excited for a post-apocalypse story where most of humanity is dead, involving a bunch of characters people don't know or care about. It was a bad way to bring his characters to a new audience.
Even the CG "reviewers", that you know will have to like it, can't really pretend to be excited when talking about the story. If the "anti-SJW" side wasn't split and the delays weren't that bad, people would still buy Cyberfrog as a form of merchandise, but now he depends on his core audience and doesn't have a good hook for new readers to join.
I don't see EVS suddenly getting a personality transplant, so I hope he can at least course correct in the following issues (time travel, universe reset, whatever) if he wants to still publish Cyberfrog stories.
Side rant:
Even a joke book like Reignbow Brute has competition nowadays. This was puplished after Reignbow Brute was funded, there's 8 floppies available plus a a spin-off series and they're currently funding a hardcover version (230 pages for $40) on Kickstarter that's shipping this November.
yeah, the story just doesn’t work. Cyberfrog worked perfectly in an urban setting fighting a roster of bad guys TMNT style. This apocolyptic setting with hornets controlled by a faceless baddie and old bad guys that didn’t seem to age making cameo appearances leaves much to be desired. Like you can only do so much in that type of setting. Not like a city setting where you can squeeze out four or five arcs before you get to writing the big event.

EVS simply can't write in the first place. He's just ripping off bits of Brian Bolland books. He doodles a page, spends far too long filling it in with render by hand in an age where there's brush to do it in two minutes, then tries to think of a connecting story for all the bits of art.
And far too often the people he draws look like AI that has finally learned how to more or less draw hands. He's a madman, literally psychotic, and it shows in his art. Unpleasant.

Since you've read the new one, do you think he's setting up a way of resetting everything? Or is he going to go full cosmic and have future arcs set on other planets?
Which is funny since he's been talking about how Cyberfrog waking up to the wasp-infested planet is an allegory for him finally stepping out of his DC office into a world overtaken by SJWs.

Right now it’s looking like a reset as we are just getting reintroduced to some old bad guys and and just getting into finding out about the Vyzzpyzz. I don’t know about going full cosmic and going to other planets because unless EVS is going to hire other artists to draw his stories, we all know he doesn’t have the work ethic to keep cranking out Cyberfrog stories like that.

Lonestar III raised about 1/5 the money that its predecesor did.
Therefore, 200K would be more or less a proportional drop for Cyberfrog III. But I think it will make more, I mean, not nearly as much as Rekt Planet or Blood Honey, but still...
Incidentally, did anyone read Lonestar? Was it any good?

i think it will do more than 200k myself. But, it damn sure isn’t beating Cyberfrog 1 in sales much less Cyberfrog 2.
I read Lonestar 1 and 2. The art is good but, Mike can’t write for shit and Lonestar comes off as Captain America with Spider senses. He is the worst guy ever to have your back because if you get kidnapped or you‘re in a fight against some real bad guys, there’s a real good chance that you aren’t making it out of that one alive.

While I don't think this was a new Snydergate as some were saying in the chats, vid below has to be the most devastating 2 1/2 minutes I've seen on these guys in awhile and I don't think they really got it - definitely not Jeremy - and that's pretty cow. This show may be the recent material that's been needed to qualify them in a revived thread for this half of the former FM.

Gavin neggin these clowns hard and 44-year old Jeremy Griggs being treated like a 14 year old is well worth the price of admission, but I'm leaning to the rest being a work. It's been a couple years since I've followed Gavin but he used to have no problem making things really uncomfortable and confrontational - even more than this. This felt like doing a favor for a friend (Chrissie). I'm going back to the "good old days" when dearest Emily Youcis tried converting him to Nazism and he would almost get punched in the face by "guests" on his show at Compound Media.
